This looks like a fun spell in theory. What are the actual uses and effects? All I have found from searching the forum is repeat mention of "Make sure you max Search".
Could someone give me a rundown of what it does in game? Is it just a fun RP spell that requires a DM event?

Re: Mirror Walking
I believe it is currently broken. RP wise those it seems hella fun, pass through a mirror, onto the plane of mirrors, walk about to your destination and sometimes mirror copies of you form, try to kill you so they can become you outside of the plane.

Re: Mirror Walking
It works like teleport actually and was working fine the last time I tested it on my Cleric (which may have literally been like April of last year so that doesn't mean it's working now by any means
). You have to mark and target a rune in your inventory. I can't remember off the top of my head what the calculation for the difficulty check is, but it weighs the Search skill very heavily (way high search = more guaranteed success).
If you fail the check you might be attacked by mirror copies of yourself or even a mirror dragon -- but this is just RP flavor text that appears on the combat log. All that happens mechanically is you take a few points of damage, just like failing a teleport.
Hope that clarifies things, but let us know if it's ceased working for some reason.

Re: Mirror Walking
Actually failure or success does not effect attackers they just randomly happen, and more often then not cause a failure. The spell does work however it just has a high failure chance.

Re: Mirror Walking
I've passed a check but got attacked and the teleport failed.
Wirg to Pug: "Iz lat dun?"
Pugratix to a snarky militia man: "Mmmm. Not yet. I will live for hundreds of years and be heralded as one of the greatest forces of destruction on the face of the world. The only thing you can destroy is the outhouse."
