Was recently tooling around in Fields of the Dead, and ran into a few skeleton priests. Those things love to throw around silence spells. Divine Might and Divine Shield being what they are, I had to recast them after they ran out mid battle. No biggie.
So I noticed that Silence apparently blocks Divine Might and Divine Shield? I was under the impression these had no verbal components. Does this mean I'd have to take Auto Silent Spell 0-3 to get a silent version, just like the Fey Feats?

Re: Silence, and Divine Might/Shield
they are free actions, but that doesnt mean they have no V component
given they require a turn undead to use and TU is verbal it is probably safe to say anything that requires its use is also verbal

Fair enough. They don't have any of the "Latin Chanting" usually associated with magic in NWN2.
Would you know offhand if 0-3 Silent Spell will apply? I can verify it applies to Confusion and Deep Slumber cast from the Fey Heritage feats. However, those are also spells castable with innate levels.

I wish the animation could be dropped or changed that takes a round in itself, always reminded me of going super sayian from dbz lol
Free actions don’t take any time at all, though there may be limits to the number of free actions you can perform in a turn

Yeah, I'm fine with silence blocking it, but it does make me sad the animations eat so much of their time. Especially if you try and use both Shield and Might. You basically sit there taking punches to the groin.

Re: Silence, and Divine Might/Shield
In P&P Turn Undead doesn't have a verbal component. Neither should Divine Shield or Divine Might. In NWN2 they all do, and I'm not sure if we're actually able to remove the verbal component from these or not. We recently made a change so that Smite Evil doesn't require a verbal component, so maybe we can make these work the same way or maybe we can't because of Turning's hardcoded nature. I'll have to look into it further.

well i suppose it does only say you channel energy, but TU is a standard action and you must use your holy symbol for it - the how of the way you channel your energy i guess is up to interpretation

Re: Silence, and Divine Might/Shield
It does use a physical animation, but it uses no chant. That would be pretty consistent with something a paralysis stops, but Silence would not. About on par with Smite.

Re: Silence, and Divine Might/Shield
Just conducted some tests in JEGs. Divine Might and Divine Shield can not be used inside Silence even with Automatic Silent Spell feats. It simply gives the message that "You can not cast spells with a verbal component".
