Bladestone Foundation Tournament

Ashan Waybe of the Bladestone Foundation is hosting a tournament to familiarize himself with the fighters that have come to the coast in his absence and promote the school.

All forms of martial prowess and limited magical prowess shall be allowed to compete within the tournament. Please look for Ashan Wayne at the arena north of Baldur's Gate to sign up for or watch the tournament!

Scrolls are scribed and posted from Soubar all the way to Nashkel directing adventuring companies to seek out Tarent Nefzen at the Friendly Arm Inn. Anyone reading a message board in Soubar, Baldur's Gate, the Friendly Arm, Beregost, Gullykin or Nashkel is likely to see the following notice:

There are many ingredients needed in order to meet the demand for his Arcane Wonders and stock is running low. So if you seek paying work in acquiring the items he needs, rare or mundane find him at the Friendly Arm!

Adventuring is dangerous work, Tarent Nefzen takes no responsibility for any death, dismemberment, or other deformity or hardship brought on while in his employ to acquire components of any kind. Each man or woman is responsible for themselves and should only undertake quests for which they are qualified. This is a player initiative to help out any players interested in low-mid level adventuring. Feel free to reply to this post, send me a PM or find me in game if interested. My goal is to give new or old players an in character reason to explore the server. If you don't have a group, that's ok, I will do some of the legwork to group up characters of similar levels and play times. Whenever I get a group of 3 or more characters together I will provide a level appropriate quest for you to go on in order to obtain some ingredient. It might be as simple as bringing me 10 fire beetle carapaces or some other item you can get on the server either by killing monsters or using skills. However, in some cases it may also be sending you out to get me components such as eyestocks of a Gauth, hair from the beards of Frost Giants or any number of things. The idea is to help out any new or old players that are interested in a little help in meeting others, grouping up and exploring the server with an RP purpose. So, even if you aren't interested, maybe you run into someone in game that could benefit! if so please direct them to this post!

In order to make things as smooth as possible, if posting to the forum or sending me a PM, please include the following details:
1. Do you have a group? (if not I will make every attempt to get at least 2 other players to group with you)
2. What arch-type is your character? (you can provide build if you prefer or just the general type)
3. What level is your character? (low-mid levels only please. I may expand to Epics later, though I doubt epics would be interested in anything I can offer!)
4. What days and times do you usually play? (Please either state XXXX-YYYY GMT or advise + or - your timezone is in relation to GMT, for instance, I play in Eastern time so I might say I play Mondays from 12:00 - 4:00 PM, Eastern (GMT -5) )
5. OPTIONAL: What areas have you been to? (This is so that I can send you somewhere new, if possible!)

- Any other details are fine, but these 5 will allow me the best potential to party you up (if you aren't already) and come up with a quest for you.

- Please allow me a day or two as it might take me a little time to come up with a quest that challenges the party without sending you somewhere that you have no chance to survive.

- I will grant in game rewards including gold and low all the way up to greater items, depending on the difficulty, length of time and effort (including how much time the player puts in to the RP, screenshots and story telling)... Don't expect anything earth shattering, but I certainly have some items that are better than what a low-mid level character can buy that I'll be willing to part with!

- This is a player run initiative that I am doing to simply help bring some RP, adventure and assistance to new players. If there are any seasoned veterans out there that would like to get involved as a guide, feel free to PM me with what you can support (ie level ranges, what PC's you have in low to mid level ranges, when you play, etc.) This will be a great way to meet some new players and have the chance to show them around in character.

A rumour between the travelers have spread across the Trade Way. They speak of a hunter, lost for two tendays, found in the Wood of Sharp Teeth totally horrified, starving and skinny. He clame to have witnessed what he say it was a dark ritual made by a coven of nine witches in the middle of the forest. He doesn't remember much after the ritual. However he claim to have been in a alien world where monster roam and hunt freely.

Another rumour had spread through the Trade Way, this time coming from Baldur's Gate; it speaks of a family of farmers in the east gate. The father has been lying in bed for nearly a season. He was so sick the family could barely work the crops to survive. One of the five sons, encountered a woman, she wasn’t and adventurer. The woman carried bags, plants and skulls of little animals, or this way she was described by the kid. He took her home and convinced his mother to allow the woman to inspect the father. No one knows what happened in that room during the hour the woman was inside. When she came out, the room had paintings of blood around the bed, in the floor and in the walls. And it was full of feathers and with an intense smell.
The family was scared at the beginning, but next day, the father started to work in the crops again, completely recovered and healthy.

They are looking for four individuals of certain skill aspects to aide in the capture and punishment of the suspect under the holy doctrine of Hoar. It is said they are seeking to employ a tracker/scout that can use smell to track if needed suspect is possibly a ranger and able to hide their tracks, investigator/arcanist that can divinate and use logic to follow facts/clues, thief/mercenary connections to seedy rumors and ability to use dark information network, Security specialist able to detect movements and shadow walkers. Offer of payment for services is circulated with the rumors. While no number is attached to the payment size it is said that pay would be much more than any person could feasibly use in a months time.

///So this is for a DM oversight event to be held on Sunday April 30th at approximately 8PM GMT. Looking for 3-4 2-3 individuals to join myself and possibly 1 other HOV member to continue this story line with DM Spartacus. There will be the usual DM reward for RP (This is XP or Gold for completion of the event) and I will be awarding much gold to those who participate as well.

Ebon Blade Daily - The posters fill notice boards

Since the moment the Riders left Soubar they have managed to reach various locations along the Coast. In each of the designated places, they made sure the nail and secure posters to the local notice boards, inside taverns and on the road signs.



The Riders do not tarry after their work has been done, they mount their steed and head home.

Heed the Horseman's message, the reveal is near.

Yesterday evening...

Signs were seen all across the coast advertising a tourney and feast in Soubar. Upon arriving in the village, curious folk would have noticed a smattering of large, colorful tents outside of the Ebon Blade fort. The place was buzzing with activity as final preparations were made for the event.

Just about all were welcome, and those who did attend might speak of many things that transpired.
There were bouts in the arena for the entertainment of guests, with a very fine cloak as the grand prize. The champion of the evening's matches was a woman named Esme.
Tales of her prowess soon spread throughout Soubar and the Western Heartlands.

After the fights had concluded, guests were invited into the main feast hall for food, drinks and an announcement. No expense was spared in either the drink selection or food presented.
The attendees filled their bellies and quaffed their thirst as the room echoed with quiet conversation.
Suddenly, Captain Greil stood up alongside the wizard, Zhaven Thruel, and took the center of the room, and the attention.

Zhaven revealed that by ancient writ, land deed and noble title, Greil Nightgale was in fact descended from high nobility of an ancient domain known as the Kingdom of Man.
He then named Greil as Lord Protector and Baron of the Borderlands. The barony had originally laid claim to the lands around Soubar. The mage then assured the crowd that the paperwork was in order, and was willing prove it to any interested.

The Baron then spoke to his honored guests:
"The winds of change are upon us in the North." He looks about the crowd, confident as ever. "The age of a lawless north is OVER! .. I accept this mantle placed upon me, and I will assure all of you gathered that Law and Order have arrived here in the north and I will see them carried out!"

Some cheers rang out, some worried looks were exchanged, and many hushed voices were heard in unison as the bold claim was digested by those present.

Before things quieted down, Baron Nightgale called his Lieutenant, Everett Blackwolf to the center of the room. After the warrior made his way there, he was asked to kneel...
Greil lay his sword upon the kneeling man's shoulder and bade him rise, as Sir Everett Blackwolf, Knight of the Borderlands.

It was an eventful night in dusty Soubar, and tales spread like wildfire...
