Warlock controller of the Storm

Unread post by Steve »

Can anybody school me on getting better DCs for this build, if possible:

http://nwn2db.com/build/?261112

I think it is self-evident what I'm going for in the concept. But I've never built for a controller Warlock before, and then one with some investment in another PrC. Cheers.

Off the top of my head you could go Aasimar and min max stats to start CHA at 20 for +2 DC, drop blind fight in favor of greater spell penetration pre epic and drop epic spell penetration in favor of two more great charisma feats for another +1... Teo can probably give you the best advice though.

I'm not sure about dropping Spell Penetration, Epic because SR is there on a lot of Invocations.

Right on, maybe you can drop another, like dark transient or something... There is not as many options to increase dc for Warlock. Might be a good candidate for some prc's or kits in the future if any dev is interested in working on it. Warlock is a popular class, but only had hellfire or dsm as prc options that advance their invoker level. Both are pretty specific rp and mechanics wise. Would be nice to have aprc for blaster/CON locks that doesn't include hellfire rp and dc locks. Warlock is pretty popular do I imagine any new prc's would see at least some use. Might be neat to have some kind of EK type of Warlock prc as well.

Greater Ability Focus (Invocations) and Epic Ability Focus (Invocations) Feats, would help. Similar to what is available for spell schools.

Stormsinger does advance invoker level.

It would be cool if Thaumaturge and Warlock could be combined, like the Malconvoker.

I'm pretty sure you mentioned this recently in another thread! But again, I forgot what exactly broken means! :?

Drop dark transient and move spell penetration + grt up the list and get rid of epic. That frees up another +2 cha. Unless you are just looking to be a haste buffer for your party flee the scene wont help that much, use a haste wand if the situation calls for it.

High level targets are going to make their saves, players especially. If you cannot beat their sr with just grt spell pen, you likely ain't going to beat their save either so you may as well just blast those with vitriolic / base blast.

If the Bard/Singer RP is important then consider switching to a blaster, they are better at it. Controller's are best as pure warlocks for the extra epic feats for charisma.
