OK I have been putting off making this for a while now because I have no idea how to start it and I am not a very good fictional writer I think. So figured that I would at least describe his character as to how I have played him thus far. Any suggestions on how I could build him a past and more lore correct background are much appreciated.

Male Drow, around 450 years old (I don’t remember specifically the age I picked), that has recently become a High Necromancer of the School of Necromancy (NOT A MASTER, and certainly not the chair, fwi that is Tsabrak of the Blood). He views the art (arcane magic) as a science, and unlike his fellow mages who theorize in their comfortable study halls he believes that true understanding of weave and its inner workings can only be achieved through analyzation of experimental data, i.e. set a pig on fire and analyze the effects, or raise someone from the dead and cast a list of spells at the zombie and look for weaknesses. For this reason he sets out around the underdark, endangering himself, in the persuit of knowledge, and from that power. Through these methods he has learned quickly and become quite powerful.

Amon is not your typical “in your face, I am more powerful” Drow, but is more of a manipulator. He may be speaking sugar into your ear and at the same time thinking of how much of a useful ghoul you may later make. At heart he is a usurer and considers NO ONE his friend, even if they think it so. Everyone is expendable to him, but he does not carelessly throw away good assets (people he is using) as he believes in wasting not one. He prefers to play all sides of the table, pulling the strings like a puppet master, in order to achieve his goals.

He is a complete racist seeing every race as inferior to the Drow, and is a Male chauvinist in that he believes that female Drow should be subservient to their male counterpart. However, he is disciplined enough to withhold his prodigious nature and gain what use he can out of other races, and female Drow. As long as other races bring gold, trade, and services he will tolerate their existence, and as long as female Drow don’t act like a Llothite he tolerates their presence.

Amon loathes the Llothites but he keeps this to himself, and tries to manipulate the Llothite Houses into internal strife by gaining the trust of their members and seeding distrust, jealousy, and hate toward their fellow house members.

He does not tolerate vagabonds and wanderers, and considers them to be Leaches on society that must be burned off. ((On the former, if you have no business in the city, no trade to benefit the Conclave, then he considers you near worthless and therefore should be killed the first chance that is available))

He considers most surface individuals to be nothing more than play toys, to be experimented on and thrown away when done. However, those that do make it into the depths of the Underdark he finds to be very interesting, and, if they don’t piss him off, tries to gain their trust in order to learn their secrets, abilities, and purpose for making such a perilous adventure. Such knowledge, he feels, will make him more powerful, and therefore such individuals are more useful alive than dead. However, a group of individuals from the surface he will find to be a threat, and not all that useful since it took their combined strength to reach the underdark. For them he would toy with, and kill, like any other surface dwellers.

Should have posted this a while ago. This character has been NPCed and can be used by the DMs for whatever purpose they see fit.

Also, I always use to use the the office on the left in the classroom floor of the Necro School as his office. The classroom attached with the glowing ward (keeps souls from escaping) as his classroom where he teaches death magic.
