Is this about right? Obviously, I'm going for a bit of everything, but...I think she'll hit pretty hard, where it counts.

EDIT: this build has Exotic Weapon Proficiency because the Wiki says the MoL weapon perks only work with Bastard Sword, which may or may not be cut and paste mistake. It may very well be that it is for the Mace, only. Which means a now-freed-up-Feat!!

What are the Paladin levels for? Sense Motive? You should take paladin levels 2 and 3 at character level 19 and 20.

Paladin is for Saves. My idea is for this Character to never fail against the EVIL!

You are a divine caster... you got spellcraft as a class skill, and bunch of spells to raise your saves even higher. You do not need the +5 or +7 from Charisma. But if that is what you want to go for, it is what you want to go for, in which case you might also want to consider Divine Champion as 4 levels of it is +2 to your saves and another great wisdom. It might be more in line with your desires.

I want to make absolutely sure no Blood Mage or Necromancer or even a Lich can touch this man-god of a Cleric.Comments Only wrote:You are a divine caster... you got spellcraft as a class skill, and bunch of spells to raise your saves even higher. Manassimar-god, to be precise.
Now, if taking out Paladin would make the build more powerful, I'm all ears.
Eyes, to be precise.

Re: Cleric / Morninglord / Hierophant / Paladin
Well, I kept editing my previous post. So lets go about again. You could consider 4 levels of Divine Champion instead Paladin. It would net +2 saves instead of the Paladin's Charisma aura, and one extra epic bonus feat that you could spend on raising your Wisdom ability score. If you are willing to go for 6 levels of Divine Champion, you get +3 to saves and two extra Great Wisdom feats.
But since you want high saves, I think you can just stay with your current build. I would still move the 2nd and 3rd Paladin levels to character levels 19 and 20. This is just from leveling perspective, the faster you progress on your cleric spell book, the more pleasant time you will have.

Re: Cleric / Morninglord / Hierophant / Paladin
But Montimian, you have left off how DC costs a Weapon Focus feat, and...with Gift of the Diety, those saves granted by Paladin double. Adding divine buffs on top, as you point out, should put the builds Fort and Will in the 40s. Not bad at all.
Not to mention all the self-righteous RP that comes with Paladin!!

Re: Cleric / Morninglord / Hierophant / Paladin
And Divine Champion also gives you one extra pre-epic bonus feat, something you could spend on the Exotic Weapon Proficiency for Bastard Sword... In case the abilities do not work with a Mace or Morningstar or what not. Thus, you really are gaining +1 Wisdom for practically free.
Moreover, I am looking at this build from the perspective of what you can do to all the evil people whose saves you are going to resist by default... I mean, I do have Blackguard/Favored Soul following Myrkul... If our characters meet and end up in some manner of religious schism, I am just going to cast Divine Power and turn on Epic Divine Might and mop those high Fortitude/Will saves of yours onto the floor. I mean, what are your offensive spells going to do to me, with those DCs of about '23' + Spell Level?

Re: Cleric / Morninglord / Hierophant / Paladin
I always figured Divine Spell power's appeal is either for increased DC and / or for protection from dispels. So I suppose it fits your theme of being unassailable by (most) magic trickery.
Do you have any experience with Advanced Divine spell power?
I'm curious how well it fits. I can see the appeal. But on the other hand you might have exchanged it for an epic feat on a cleric level? (not sure)
I think I'd skip Gift of the Deity. You have so many spells that I'm guessing you could find equivalent magical protection by combining spells. Without needing that feat. But that would cost more spells and it might not be entirely equivalent.

With that charisma modifier of 7~ Steve's build should be able to get about +4 caster levels from Divine Spell Power On Average, and thus reach caster level of 36~. (+5 Epic Caster Bonus to DCs, he gets +4 by default.)Rasael wrote:Do you have any experience with Advanced Divine spell power?

The spell that really works well is Spell Resistance, because 48~ Spell Resistance is nothing to shrug at.

I'm sorry but a wizard that is well played (smart player) will eat you alive with mords and you cant touch him unless you try to UMD some breaches. Don't get me wrong, clerics are high on the ladder of PVP but for sure they are not on the highest rank. This is a great build it will serve you well but its far from invincible.
Hey, I just lost it, And this is crazy, But here's my login, So PM me, maybe?
