I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I couldn't find it.

As mentioned in the title. I had to buy a new one when the line snapped.

Funny enough happened a second time, but the rod kept working. First time was maybe a glitch.

It's not actually a bug but intentional design. Sometimes the line snaps when you're trying to catch a fish and the rod can be reused. Sometimes the rod breaks altogether and you have to buy a new one. :)
