If so and while I'm at it I would like to request a few spells be fixed so you can make them into potions/elixirs:
Appraising Touch
Darkness
Detect Illusion
Detect Scrying
Detect Undeath: For some reason this gives a potion of mass cure serious wounds at CL 17, for 722gp at level 3 Master Alchemist if it makes a difference. I'd really rather have the potion of detect undeath :o
Feeblemind
Protection from Petrification
Rinse: Don't think about it, just admit you know it'd be awesome
Have you tested Dry? Those would be quite useful as some mobs as well as the Minotaur boss cast ice spells which then make you wet and cause electricity damage increases. Carrying around a few potions of dry would get rid of the debuff.
Dry also doesn't work, but then I'm not sure how a potion will make you dry :0 neat trick though!
As for area/target that may be the case mechanically as it is, but I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to go bottoms up on a drink that'll fry your brain. I'm sure adventurers do it all the time.

There is a discussion taking place concerning, among other things, potion/elixir crafting. Some things may be re-balanced that will positively affect the class.
