Almarith Gaston

Unread post by Caluril »

Strapping on his morningstar and reciting a prayer to Lathander, his deity, Almarith starts off on his new life, most would call it adventure. Almarith had been the son of a priestly father, and a devout mother. After finding he had natural talent with holy magic his father would have put him in with the church of Lathander for study to become a cleric, or even a Morninglord of Lathander. But Almarith would have none of it, so he snuck out in the middle of the night, with only his father's armor, and the blessed morningstar that the church had given his father. After several tendays of travel Almarith arrived in Baldur's Gate:

I have been in Baldur's Gate for nearly a tenday now, and already I have earned a thousand gold begging on the streets. I used the money to acquire potions, and some information of where to look for work. That led me to the Merchant League, and Jorn (my best source of income thus far) and now I've earned my lot killing wolves, snakes, and bandits, I can see an improvement in my fighting, yet everyday I meet some encounter with the ability to easily best me, I still have scars from my encounter with the gnolls. I have been considering maybe learning the ways of the blade, or morningstar in this case, so I may more easily survive. I have yet to meet a friendly person, although, it's not as if I have tried hard to be friendly myself, though, today I met a warrior in the bandit cave, east of the trade way, who seemed friendly enough.

The hour grows late, off to bed.

It's been nearly two days since my last journal entry, suppose I should change that. The day before yestereve I met a quite friendly halfling thief, whose name I forgot to ask for. The two of us had gone hunting for a while, until an unfortunate chain of events led to my being beaten half to death and his retreat at the hands of several gnolls. I have not seen the halfling since. Also, yesterday I made atrip to Beregost to acquire good for Maltz. Along the way I met a thief and a warrior. I had later been killed by some elite cadre of goblins. Luckily for me, the nearby church was feeling generous, and had resurrected me.
