Remove level indicator in scry tool.
I don't understand why it is there in a first place. If someone is looking for group he can write his level range in status.
At the moment it is almost always used to metagame and check someone's power before PvP.
I know there is an option to turn it off but doing so every login is not very comfortable.
Either add option to make "hide name/area/level" persistent through game restarts or remove lvl display completely. It has literally no good uses 95% of the time.
I would also consider doing the same with area if persistent setting is not possible.

You might not be able to see the use for it but plenty of people do use it to find people within their level range to go grouping with. We might try to figure out some way to make it so that your "status" options can persists between to resets down the line as a quality of life improvement, but it won't be removed entirely.

Would it be too much to ask that, at login, the SCRY options are all set to 0, or blank, and that a Player must manually initiate listing anything but their PC's name?

Kinda yeah, it just shifts the existing burden from one group of players to remember to hide their information to the other group of players to remember to reveal theirs. Far more people reveal their scry than hide it (you can see this pretty obviously when the server is at max pop), so in a certain way really it's sort of a choice to inconvenience the minority instead of inconveniencing the majority.

That being said though I can definitely get behind the idea of your options being permanently stored between resets instead of cleared every time, and this should be possible easily enough. Everybody wins this way.

Yes, if it would be a one-time-set-per-Character thing, then a set it and forget it Way is really the best option.

As far as I understand "+" might mean level 1 or 9 while "++" might mean lvl 10 or 19 so lets say levels 5 and 18 would still get xp penalty that'll prevent them from groping (at least for exping on mobs). That means players still need to ask exact level to be sure if grouping makes sense.
Even someone with the same symbol has to do it since lvl 10 and 19 will probably get too high penalty. It's really not that useful, and writing your level in status when you're LFG is normal thing even with this indicator present.
