Druid + Thaumaturgist summons/spell addition

Hello,
The Druid spell list for NWN2 and for D&D doesn't grant Druid / Spirit Shaman the Planar Ally / Planar Binding spells, which makes taking Thaumaturgist lvl 5 pointless (the level that grants Planar Cohort).

However, what the Druid spell list from D&D does contain is the spell Summon Nature's Ally, which does call a being—elemental or outsider—like for the Level 9 spell version:

-Elemental, elder
-Grig [NG; with fiddle] (sprite)
-Pixie2 (sprite) [NG; with sleep and memory loss arrows]
-Unicorn, celestial charger [CG]

What about letting Planar Cohort from Thaum work with Summon Nature's Ally...if those spells were scripted and put in game?

Summon Nature's Ally are summoning spells, so not valid for planar cohort.

So, we're discussing the difference in Conjuration sub-schools: summoning vs. calling?

Yeah, of Planar Cohort is only to be used with Planar Ally/Binding, then yeah, the Druid is SOL. I guess there is reason to take 4 levels of Thaum with a Druid, for stacking Extended Summoning and Augment Summoning (though the latter can be taken freely; 2 feats spent to unlock Thaum, 2 Feats gained).

I believe Augment, Extend, and Contingent summon all include the druid's phantom wolf and phantom bear spells, which I believe are pretty strong summons. But yes, Druid/Shaman shouldn't take level 5 Thaumaturge.

Ah yes, the phantom bear/wolf. Totally forgot about those, probably because they seemed inappropriate for the Underdark.

Down in the Basement, you need a Phantom Spider, or a Phantom Dire Worm, or maybe a Phantom Hooked Horror!!??
