Born second daughter of Ilharess Drisnil Melarn moments after her sister Narawen, Gaussafae was strong of limbs and will. She has been instructed from an early age to be the “Shield of Lolth” while her sister was Lolths voice. She is a brash and outspoken female, who has had the protection of her older sister beaten, burned and whipped into her. The have a love hate relationship has not ended with a victor yet. Lolth in her wisdom will grant one or the other of the sisters more favor than the other. With one this has turned into a powerful spell-caster, the other, Gaussafae has turned into a relentless and driven female who will stop at nothing to become the top Yath in her family. She will spend hours in prayer or in weapons training striving to perfect herself.

She grew up as a C'rintri Drow in the Underdarks most beautiful city Ched Nassad, the “City of Shimmering Webs”.


The Ilharess, sensing that that her family, house and city was about to be destroyed sometime in the near future, because what is 20 or so years to a race that will live for hundreds, sent out a small warband of 25 to travel to Menzoberranzan to warn the Ruling Council of the Duregar Army that had destroyed her home. To ensure the legitimacy of her words, Drisnil sent her two oldest daughters.

The Faern called forth a portal just as they were attacked by ilithids. The mindflayers threw off the mages concentration and she and her sister were thrown deep into the wilds of the underdark.
