Controversial and potentially horrible half-orc suggestion

Suggestion: Make half-orcs use the human heads and body type, just larger and with a different colour palette. Save the 'half-ork' heads and body type for true orcs.


Reason: There's plenty of examples in literature of half-orcs that can pass for humans, just bigger and stronger-looking. You'll also get more people playing orcs on the server if there was a 'pretty' version, since I doubt we'll get new orc heads any time soon.

This is a selfish suggestion. I've wanted to make either a half-orc or giant-blooded human for a while now, but there's no real way of doing it without a character with a face like a potato.

I don't think people are more likely to play orcs with "prettier" heads.

Half orcs can "pass" as humans as much has half elves can. They'll still have some traits that are identifiable.

What about making a half-orc with a high disguise skill and going about disguised as a human?

Just take a human as base model and add the orc heads. Perhaps it works.

What about adding another race for the Half Orcs? So a second Half-Orc race, that we could create with this server. We likely could use Half-Elf heads retextured with tusks added, since they have the pointy ears.

Edit: Learned how to use Blender tonight just to see if it was easy enough to do. Was pretty easy. The textures was from one of my older modded heads, I fixed the symmetry, thinned the neck, and added some orc-ish tusks.

It adds more clothing and animation options for half orcs while largely retaining their looks (most of the animations and a lot of the clothing options were built with standard models in mind). And its already been done on nwn2 before, so its feasible.

I like the looks of it. On behalf of elf players everywhere it makes me sick, but it looks good!

Not something that I'll likely work on unless there's enough demand for it, along with the DMs agreeing to implementation. It'd also be work for other team members, since they'd have to add a new race to 2da files, not just myself.

So if you guys really want these kind of things as future options, create threads or band together under suggestions.

If approved, I'll happily toss together some heads.

Looks a like halforc-halfelf. Prettier than humans, and definately not what I imagine a half orc would look like. The current horcs faces look bad but they are more believable than these...green elves with sharp teeth.

Some would be modified to look more gruff than others. This was only my very first blender project, to see if it would be a difficult task for myself. It is a proof of concept, not a final product.
