Background: The Cloudwalkers roam the Forgotten Realms as a trade caravan much in the style of Ravenloft's Vistani or the Elder Scroll's Khajiit. They descend from the Djinn that ruled Calimshan in days long past. Everywhere they go they pick up a new recipe or fashion or tale, the Cloudwalkers indulge a cultural mish-mash that seems exotic to yokels but leaves the cultured elite unimpressed.

Few things remain unchanged since the beginning. Air Genasi being what they are, Cloudwalker children are always raised on tales of heroes who are agile and intelligent. The family's religious beliefs are heavily skewed towards venerating deities whose Clerics have access to the Air domain. Akadi, Auril, Leira and either Shaundakul or Valkur depending on whether the caravan currently crosses land or sea.

Growing up he always knew he wanted his role to be defending the caravan. The running joke was that he could never decide between sword and spell but the truth was that he enjoyed spending time with his teachers. His uncle taught him the blade, his grandmother, the Art.

Disagreements came about between Sirian and the others over the family's penchant for fleecing others. If parting a gullible noble from his coin is what it took to get to the next town, that's one thing -- but taking someone's last coin for snake oil never sat well with Sirian. He eventually parted ways with the caravan when the disagreements became the source of irreconcilable differences. Coincidentally this occurred as the caravan passed through Baldur's Gate.

Sirian didn't grasp the severity of this decision until the day he no longer knew where the caravan was. There is perhaps no way to catch up to and find them by now. Sirian embraces life now as a transient adventurer. His faith in the Helping Hand drives him to see which way all the roads go and to keep them safe for other travelers as well.
