Theme Song + (translated) lyrics : General appearance/behavior :
She walks with the grace and elegance of some noble knight. The silent flame in her eye, her peculiar golden hair with lava red tips making it appear as if fierce is her game and firestorm is her very definition... one with the power and intensity to purify an horizon of evil beings.
When she speaks, there is no sign of a casual, uneducated vibe often typical for common fighters. Rather the opposite. Even if she weren't a woman of noble blood, she incorporates more formal words into her vocabularly than the average countess. She enunciates clearly, and speaks with confidence, loud enough to be easily heard but no louder than a situation requires.
At first sight, often, (but not always) her behavior and personality can be described as calm, collected, charming up to a certain level and polite, one who rarily would lose her poise for a moment. However, there are or can be exceptions to this.
In combat she can be as fierce as an awakened dragon storming out of the clouds, with sparks of red flame flickering about its form. She manoeuvres fairly quickly for a partially metal-clad female, like as if an invisible wind or wings make her veer when she leaps forward, her movements hard to follow to any common man. The combination of sword, shield and songcraft only seems to add to the appearance and solidness of a decent warrior.
Quick background :
Brendika was a young child when she had the first encounter with a dragon. It was a red one which attacked her village and the farm where she lived, her parents among others engulfed in the inferno. She happened to be outside, playing, when farmers all around suddenly cast looks of worry in the direction of the Sunrise Mountain range. Looks which moments later turned to sheer terror as they saw their fields, their homes, their loved ones go up in flames. Despite the fear the winged beast spread, the twelve year old Brendika yelled and wanted to kill it single-handedly. Upon which the creature turned around and headed for her, not granting the survivors the time nor the opportunity to douse the flames as they all fled. All but one.
Brendika always had been a peculiar girl, featuring peculiar blood as well, and she appeared completely fearless. The dragon noticed the girl wasn't screaming nor running, not even when it disintegrated a woman within seconds, or when it plucked a man off the ground like an eagle snatching a mouse. To Brendika the surrounding land got engulfed in the blaze, crops withering from the exceptional heat. And still she didn't ran, instead shaking her fist at the 'flying serpent'.
At some point the red dragon had enough of its game and wanted to strike at the girl. The bravery of the girl however had bought the survivors some time. Defenders of the land, knights and adventurers from a nearby fortification, came seated on horses to the rescue. Arrows, magic and blades lashed at the creature, sending it away back to the mountains. The dragon fled, injured, but not before challenging the little girl that had ruined its day, telling her it would be back. Brendika, now warded and shielded by various spells, was taken back to the fortification where she was praised for her courage, but where she also received a lecture on 'the basics of foolishness'. One knight however, answering to the name Jaxon Sereta, took the young girl under his wing and trained her in the arts of melee, combat alchemy, and dragon slaying.
Five years later, together with her training master and a specialized party, Brendika tracked down the red one that had killed her parents, and put it down for good. Her final words there when the dragon drew its final breath : "I accept your challenge."
The only reason why Brendika later on left the region -and- her training master, is because she had started to distinguish between right and wrong. Her parents sort of had been slaves, working the lands for the Thayans. And Jaxon, who was a knight from outside Thay, didn't wish to be involved nor intervene in Thayan matters. Ever since Brendika traveled the land, in search for others who could train her, and tracking down hostile dragons to kill.
RP hooks (for now) :
- Brendika's battle training is still incomplete, her talent raw but like an cut yet unpolished diamond.
- She hates Thayans, they were responsible for the death of her parents as they weren't there to protect them. Over time she learned Thayans don't bother nor care as much as she does.
- During her travels she discovered her ability to bring forth magic from her soul, enabling her to cast a small amount of spells. She also discovered that when she developed her musical talent, she also develops her magic.
- The loss of her parents first weighed heavily upon her. One day she managed to make contact with the world of spirits during an attempt to contact her parent's spirits. She never got to talk to them, but got 'access' to a whole new world instead.
