Master Alchemist + Anointed Knight/WoD combo?

Unread post by Babuguuscooties »

I was just offhandedly curious if there are any viable builds centered around both Master Alchemist and Anointed Knight (or WoD) together?

Like maybe a Bard or Paladin with Master Alchemist and Anointed Knight post level 11-12.

It might be a very curious combination with Paladin as you will surely find a niche market for potions of paladin buff spells. Bard has more limitations in that, like sorcerers, their known spells are fairly limited but it will still be more than a paladin gets. The advantage a paladin has is being able to memorise the spells people want to buy as potions at a whim; a bard cannot change their set spell selection (except 1 spell every 3 levels, which is not many really given levelling rates on BG). The problem is just that no-one really buys many potions as wands are preferable. I like the concept though!

Any build taking more than 4 levels of AK/WoD is going to suffer in the spellcasting stakes (bard or paladin), so as neat as it sounds it's mechanically not ideal. A Cavalier paladin might do okay because you can otherwise build it as a full Str fighter and use your spellbook for brewing & bosses only.

I'll give that a try when im bored on my off-days. Cavalier/Anointed Knight and Master Alchemist could be fun.

Can you brew elixirs of Lawful Sword? If it is fixed one might get cheap +5 weapons for cl*10 min.
