So my character Nedrin had a brush with some Monks of the Long Death in his backstory, and it got me wondering what a good build for one in our server might look like?
This would of course be using the monk class kit for
Monk of the Long Death

Part of me is thinking about a Monk 11/Assassin 9/Duelist 10... Or perhaps a Swashbuckler 11/'Monk of the Long Death 19' or Swashbuckler 5/Invisible Blade 5/'Monk of the Long Death 20' to make most out of the investment in intelligence.

Why not just Monk 30 (25 kit levels in MotLD)?

"Long Death Monk substitution levels do not progress the monk flurry and ki-fist feats." So no Greater Flurry of Blows, which blows...

Monk + MotLD is inherently not synchronizing very well. Monk likes Wisdom, MothLD likes Intelligence. If you don't take Monk 20 for Intuitive Attack, your BAB is going to be irritatingly low.
As well, the Death Attack, if the save is failed, only lasts for 1 round. Stunning Fist, on the other hand (pun pun punpun!!), has synergy with WIS to both BAB, AC, Skills, etc.
Death Touch is just so sad...the MothLD should use it on themselves...then hit the Recycler.
Maybe if MotLD could actually make use of Intuitive Attack but for INT, and if MothLD progressed Fist Damage like normal monk, there would be something to look at here.
Otherwise, in my humble opinion, taking MothLD is like gimping your Monk. Just so that it can wear a scary black hood!
LOL. AVOID THIS PRC!

Its a kit - if memory serves you can already switch it on.
The PRC information is incorrect / out of date.

Wiki updated, but I left a few notes as I do have just a couple of outstanding questions to Rasael. Namely it appears currently if you are going Pure Monk or at least Monk 26 there is NO REASON to stay 'pure' as the Kit has no short comings. In addition, there are some inconsistencies in the descriptions and leveling architecture (need to confirm if Macabre Experiments +3 happens at level 10 or if it is every 4 levels, for example). Finally, the skills are not consistent and need to be validated. At a minimum "Lore" needs to be addressed and matched up based on changes for this server to having multiple Lore skills.

Kits do not open more skills so this will have the same skills as monk class.

So there are some viable builds using the kit right now?

The ability to paralyze can be very powerful. For example, if you can take more than 10 levels in this kit, just imagine Monk 5/Monk of the Long Death 25. That Death Attack will have DC of 35 before adding intelligence modifier. I do not know how many death attacks they get, if there is some timer or something or just one use... But being paralyzed for 3 rounds can easily be a death sentence.
But as just a 10 level PRC... Imagine a Monk 11/Long Death 10/Assassin 9 dualwielding Kamas or something.

The Death Attack reads as if only 1 per Rest. Considering it's incredibly high DC, this would be the only balanced way. It's like Quivering Palm, in that respect.
The Kit with Ras' updates makes it far more appealing, though some heavy limitations.

Sounds pretty cool to me, even if its a 1 off.

Does anyone know if Death Attack from MotLD is a One Day use, or is like Stunning Fists, with X/uses per day based on MotLD levels? Or...what? Cheers.
