Scent wil let you see people in stealth just like you spot then and you wil see them marked on the map aswel even if they have Pass without a trace up.

Tested this in game with Ragingpeace

Not exactly like spot - I couldn't attack you.

To the best of my knowledge it simulates listen...That's why you can't directly target them, IC'ly you know the direction, but not exact location. Watch out for AoE's...

But isn't pass without trace supposed to counter it? At least it says so in the description.

is there a roll or toggle attached to scent? must you be in search mode? i dont think i have ever had this work for me.

I think you have to be in tracking mode, I was in both tracking and search when I tested it.

Scent is connected to tracking mode and permits invisible or hidden hostile creatures to appear on the minimap. They will not 'visually' appear to the character searching for them unless they can still beat their hide/ms checks with their own spot/listen checks or see invisibility.

Pass without a Trace should be nullifying the minimap marker, though.

Ragingpeace could see me even though his spot and listen is no where near my hide and ms and he had a marker of me on the mini map even when i had Pass without a Trace up.

yea being 20 off isnt enough because of engine modifiers, need to be over 30 if everything is against you

also when was pass without a trace made a counter? was that some custom change or normal nwn2? because if i remember right scent came with SoZ but pass without a trace is original, so doubtful they did anything to it aside from the +4 stealth bonus when outdoors

His hide and ms was high 80s i belive and my listen is around 30.

Tested it again just now with some of the orcs and it seems to be a LOS thing cous when i hips and run away and come back they dont see me its just when i hostile and am near to them that they see me.

So pass with out a trace is working fine up till you hostile and try to hips near them with out breaking LOS first.

Broken game be broken but we love it any way ;p

Does anyone know the min surivival score to make Tracking worthwhile and the max one that still yields benefits?
