Wolves in No. Tradeway

Unread post by aaron22 »

the decay rate for the wolves in the northern tradeway seems very long.

edit: even had one dire that would not decay and stayed up for at least 30 mins. just laying there. dead.

Dynamic realism! It'd be cool if the corpse lured more out. A cascading effect for epic slaughtering!

One wolf dies. Three wolves attracted.

Three wolves die. Nine wolves attracted.

Nine wolves die. Twenty-seven wolves attracted.

Twenty-seven die, eighty-one.

Eighty one, two forty three.

Server crashes under the weight of 243 wolves.

I'm sure limits would be put in place, but still not likely to implement anything of the sort due to the astronomical XP increases that would be possible from such mechanics. There is already a mechanic in the first testing phase for if you are in an area too long, dependent on how many enemies you kill there is an increasing chance of something occurring. As we get the timing and response balance worked out I'm sure we will expand the mechanic to additional area's.

well im pretty sure this is a bug that is a result from the meat gathering component that was implemented in the last update. likely some creature stat miss to decay the corpse.

I agree. It's likely something that just needs to have the timer fiddled with. I've noticed other animals that can be field dressed sticking around for quite a long time, one of those times with dedude in the party so I am sure it's being looked in to further. :D
