Monk's Adamantine Fists
It was my understanding that adamantine fists hits through damage reduction. I am in the deep cloakwood with the spiders, vampires and treants. However, I am seeing 5 DR from treants and 10 DR from vampires. Is this right?

Yes, it does not prevent plain damage reduction.
It works on certain spells like stoneskin, premonition, shadow shield,........ and on some golems.

Especially as there are no AS/CI gloves.

Adamantine DR is just one kind of DR so I don't see how that's weird ! Most spells do give adamantine DR indeed, stoneskin, premonition, shadow shield, ehtereal visage, ghostly visage, ethereal visage, stonebody, ironbody.
Nothing goes through flat DR, which is what most mobs have.

No issue with flat dam.res. at all.
Would still be nice, if CI/AS gauntlets would be obtainable at all.
(and AS/CI clubs are misssing too.

Re: Monk's Adamantine Fists
why does there have to be a solution for everything?
if someone favors blades, which have trouble cutting through skeletons, do they ask for blades with bludgeoning, or do they use a bludgeoning weapon? if a monk cant use silver gauntlets, use a silver monk weapon.
what good is DR of any kind if there is always a simple solution around it?
why do the lowbie shops sell every kind of silver and cold iron weapon? I thought this stuff was rare.
silver and cold iron dont cut through the damage because of their hardness, it is because silver is a bane for some, and cold iron a bane for others. plus, the monk gets lawful fists at some point, which is supposed to cut through some devil types dr. if there are no devil types with that dr, then its just another nothing feat.
there shouldnt even be silver quarterstaffs and cold iron arrows. Cold iron supposedly take an immense amount of time to fashion. there is no way they are banging out cold iron arrows on an industrial scale. and dnd says that tipping wooden weapons with silver or cold iron does nothing. the whole weapon or arrow has to be silver or cold iron to be effective.
and dnd says silver is -1 damage, because it soft.

Re: Monk's Adamantine Fists
I actually meant to see if I could add clubs a long time ago, thanks for the reminder! :/ But due to issues with the way the game is hard coded a DR breaking material type can't be added to gloves. No matter what a monk won't be able to break Cold Iron or Silver DR without using a staff or kama or something like that.Theodore01 wrote:No issue with flat dam.res. at all.
