Life past 30

Unread post by blacksoft »

So I got thinking about what can be made available for level 30 builds as far as continued xp goes.

I really think instead of expanded epic levels (which creates its own set of problems and am not suggesting in the slightest), why not offer new feat options at each "level up" point. Epic level feats would be unavailable, but there are many nice fluff feats that may add role play options or soften some of the build's edges.

These feats could already exist or be custom for the server.

Examples:

use poison, improved initiative, dash, iron will, etc. Just something that offers some added benefits for getting xp past 30.

I am sure more creative minds could come up with some better features for custom feats...

Doesn't really work on a server where passage of time is 1:1. Growing old requires years, not levels.

but on a 8 hour reset where time passes(x3) and 15 minutes equal an hour (x4) how does a year equal a year... im so confused. perhaps the day is broken into parallels that are supposed to mean we live the groundhog day 3 (maybe 4, not sure) times before the next day comes.

No matter how in game days, months, years are related to real days, months, years, one thing is for certain. There wont be any mechanical bonuses once you reach level 30.

To Theodore
“Hell no,” Jim said when they were alone in the suite. “Absolutely no. No (do-me) way, no. There have got to be a billion different ways to say no, and I’d still have to cycle through them a couple times to really express the depth of no on this one. (Limiting lifespan of a character?) How is that anything but a massive load of let’s-not-do-that?”
(for the record, the brackets had a spoiler replaced.)

To Aaron:

It's an unfortunate compromise between trying to get 1:1 time going and making it so every timezone gets to RP during the night and during the day. As such, only IRL days count for sake of calendar and all that, but IG days can be used to RP during the night/day. It's weird and requires some even weirder hops of logic but... It's the best we got :/.

I'd argue the existence of magic doesn't mean there is no system of fundamental laws. Realism isn't just about adhering to RL fundamental laws - realism can also be measured by adherence to setting laws.

Nope. Gimping is free. You can ask for as many malus feats as you want. You can gimp the Commoner class as much as you want. Just dont ask for bonuses to go along them. The bonus is the option not to take the feat/class.

An ability to initiate dialogue with Death NPC from anywhere in the world via rightclick menu?
For the situation when you want to have character deleting without going to the nexus first.

Another interesting option would be enabling permadeath past level 30. Meaning you die 10 times, character poofs. Or at least gets locked in the nexus. This can be made optional ,though.

Optional maybe, but very strong maybe.

Right click menu too high chance of misclick.
