More than Epic Traps?

Unread post by Blackrose »

I understand Hellball gives 50d6 Damage (Max 300 damage in all elements).
I understand Geater Ruin gives 35d6 Damage (Max 210 Damage).

I don't understand why an epic wizard can only have this epic spells and a TRAP in a random chest gave me 446 divine damage with a instakill.

also I don't understand why I should loose experience and gold to such a stupid death with a spell supposed to be banned in material in Forgotten campaign set.

People can place a 11th circle spell in trap chests now?

Can the staff understand that a 446 Divine Damage - assuming every dice rolls 6 - is almost 75d6 Divine Damage Trap?
If I need to loose XP for that I want to know what spell killed me. I want this spell.

I mean no disrespect, it's because that is not the first time.

It is. Holy traps ( divine damage ) have no reflex saves
Minor single creature 2d4 (4d10 if undead) divine none
Average single creature 3d4 (5d10 if undead) divine none
Strong single creature 6d4 (8d10 if undead) divine none
Deadly single creature 8d4 (12d10 if undead) divine none

Wail of the Banshee Trap
CR 10; magic device; proximity trigger (alarm); automatic reset; spell effect (wail of the banshee, 17th-level wizard, DC 23 Fortitude save negates); multiple targets (up to 17 creatures); Search DC 34; Disable Device DC 34. Cost: 76,500 gp, 6,120 XP.

Assuming a Divine Damage Trap (The only damage with no possible immunity) giving a 75d6. The trap itself is something like 200k gp to build?

WHO DOES THAT?
Who can possibly make a trap worst than Greater Ruin?!

Anyway, we will see if something is out of place. It happens to die from a trap. Rarely but happens.

while that sucks it also wouldnt take much damage to kill most casters honestly, given something that gives no DR possibility or save for half, while there are fighter builds that can get over 5 or 600HP and still keep bashing the chest to open it...
