I want to try a dual wielding, non HIPS'ing DSM character, but needing sneak attacks to qualify for this class is really harshing my mellow, man!
I'm sure the pre-reqs are taken straight from a sourcebook somewhere, but in an effort to make this class a tad more flexible and usable (because it certainly isn't all that powerful), I say we get rid of the need for sneak attacks to qualify. Anybody with me? Anybody opposed? Anybody care at all?
DSM pre-reqs. Please lose sneak attack.

I would actually say: yes please.
Wizard 7/Daggerspell Mage 10/Shadowdancer 3/Arcane Trickster 10 - would have caster level of 30, 8d6 sneak attack dice, HiPS, and it could be relatively early HiPS since Daggerspell Mage opens the Hide, Move Silently, and Tumble skills.
But I fear that is the reason they will say no...
Another request could be to lower the Arcane Trickster Sneak Attack requirement to 1d6 instead of 2d6. It would just let a lot more classes to be used to unlock this PRC.

Re: DSM pre-reqs. Please lose sneak attack.
What can that build do that's really any better/different than our existing HIPS mages? The sneak damage on ranged touches is nice, but casting breaks stealth, so you don't really get to abuse it all that much, do you?
Do the reserve feats not break stealth? I imagine they do since it's probably a casting animation.
*Edit* What's super restrictive in terms of character creation is the need for both spellcasting AND sneak attacks in a single prestige class. The builds all tend to be pretty much the same, with only slight variations in classes or levels, and almost no variation in what they're trying to do mechanically. When classes like IB, Guild Thief, and Assassin don't require any sneak attack dice to qualify, I find it frustrating that Arcane Trickster and Daggerspell Mage do.
