Events have you down? The winter have you chilled? Come to the Last Anchor for food and fellowship leading up a day where the famed Sauna is open to all.

The nights might be ling and dark, but really that's just one more excuse to party.

Food provided by the Foxy Four and the Last Anchor. Remember on the last day to bring your swimwear!

Yesterday's promotional celebration was a huge success and the proprietors of the inn are looking forward to another today. Yesterday's wild bunch was Ronja, Derik, Lannia, Cormac, Marneiros, and Moria in a pebble tossing show down at the start of the event. The party would later be joined by Archibald, V'rass, Oth, Sirion, Veld, Rania, Selhurina, Rin, Nathan, and many more! The celebration went on for hours. Games and conversation were had by all.

Patrons enjoyed one free bowl of hearty beef stew and a cup of Mulled Pear and Ginger Rum drink. Throughout the room various other free samples were provided and opinions were collected on what guests thought should become a party of the permanent menu. Yesterday's menu and free samples were:

The pot of stew and cider simmers in the kitchen, their scents spread out into the inn. There is a poster tacked up on the wall next to the kitchen door.

Old Fashioned Beef Stew



A meltingly tender beef stew with flavors such as:

Beef, olive oil, garlic, shallots, celery, carrots, fresh thyme, red bell pepper, red wine, beef stock, bay leaves, soy sauce.


One free serving of the stew for any guests today. 5 gold per serving after that.


Mulled Pear & Ginger



This deeply spiced pear and rum drink will warm you up nicely. With flavors such as:

Cloudy apple juice, finger, pears, cinnamon, cardamom, brown sugar, limes, rum.

2 gold per glass

Free samples:

Today's soup is a smooth lamb stew. The pear drink will be served again with all new free samples. Mara will be serving the soup and drinks from the kitchen. ((menu examine by the kitchen beneath the fish tank)) The owners of the anchor encourage guests to leave their suggestions on food and drink with John the bartender. Swabbie will be moving about the room to restock free samples as needed.

Northern lamb stew



A hearty and traditional lamp stew with flavors such as:

Bacon, lamb, salt, black pepper, garlic, onion, beef stock, a tinge of white sugar, carrots, thyme, bay leaves, white wine.

One free serving of the stew for any guests today. 5 gold per serving after that.


Mulled Pear & Ginger



This deeply spiced pear and rum drink will warm you up nicely. With flavors such as:

Cloudy apple juice, finger, pears, cinnamon, cardamom, brown sugar, limes, rum.

2 gold per glass

Free samples:

Mini Blackberry Tarts - a bite-sized pie complete with a butter/flaky crust, blackberry and honeysuckle filling, and drizzle of honey glaze.

Seasoned and Dried Green beans - Rolled in salt and spices, these green beans are then cooked until dried on low heat without burning them. The result is a tasty crisp of sorts that gives a pleasing crunch and burst of flavor. Great for long Trips, this offering is another potential ingredient to the trail rations the anchor is considering as an offering in the new menu.

Apple gems - Apple slices, rolled in cinnamon, brown sugar, and sea salt. They are then fried resulting in a crunchy sweet and salty covering and a warm applesauce inside.

Pine Tea - A heavily aromatic northman tea made from steeping the foliage of various evergreen shrubs and juniper berries. Served cold or warmed on the guest's request. A cold brew maintains and milder smell and taste, serving as a bright pallet cleanser. A warm brew has a stronger smell and flavor, warming the body and easing sinuses that have been bitten by winter's harsh cold. It is believed to have medicinal properties, easing winter colds and flus.

Cracklings - Made from the fatty belly and cleaned skin of a wild boar or other game. This is pan fried until most of the oil is removed and a crisp husk remains. The oil may be refined and used for cooking, while the cracklings are tossed in savory spices to make a crunchy snack that keeps a very long time. ((think pork rinds))

Cornbread Muffins - Bite sized mini-muffins. They are sweet and buttery, but a little messy and crumbly as you would expect. Best served crumbled over a bowl of stew, but they may be eaten whole for a sweet and savory treat.

Natariél: The man the goblin, the chicken and the puppet ran away from the angry dwarf.
Dimitry Kolovitz: Or at least the thought they ran... , the dwarf was waiting them behind a rock... and ambushed them , roteating the flail over his head , and finally striking a smashing blow on...

Lannia Ranloss: His skull was as soft as his heart. He fell the chicken Squaked and ran in another direct, abandoning the liar and the sock puppet with the crazed berserker dwarf. wiggles her stache
Derik Ranloss: Terrified, the liar with his sock puppet Gerald stared into the face of what they were sure would be their doom, when all of a sudden...
Taevemira Fjord: The dwarves kneeds began to buckle as the earth beneath him gave way.
Lannia Ranloss: And the GODS themselves did intervene! AAaggggghhhh unties her beard
Lannia Ranloss: falls into Derik's side
Natariél: The dwarf fell down into a deep, dark hole and... land on a soft mushroom.
Dimitry Kolovitz: The liar and the sock puppet were shocked , and peered down the hole to see what happened to the mad hermit , until Gerald...
Alrik Olafsson: ...showed his true form: he was a dragon, and ate both the dwarf and the liar and the mushroom. Only the chicken remained, so...
Lannia Ranloss: he took flight, stopping to eat the goblin because he did not wish to be wasteful. He found the chicken and...
Taevemira Fjord: and so the realms were saved on this very eve not ten years ago? shrugs
Natariél: The dragon and the chicken got married and everyone lifed happily.
Ronja Leonhart: The end! - She chuckles.

Lannia would grab a copy of the story immediately, frame it, and place in on a wall near the door. Swabbie rolled his eyes and smirked at her, and she responded by tying some of her hair beneath her nose and chin.

"MIND YER OWN YE LONG-LEGGED, SCRAWNY ARMED, ELF-LUBBER! GO 'AN GROW A PROPER BEARD!"

She wiggled her "beard" at him, he shook his head and said, "Ye know ya sound more like a pirate than a dwarf, ma'am."

"What was that about winter bonuses?" Lannia teased.

Swabbie, Marra, John and the rest of the staff all applauded as Lannia took a bow. She then turned and posted a notice about the next two parties. ((next weekend at 2PM EST since I SUCK as timezones I am just going to use my time))

GIVEAWAY!!!! The notice reads that a second tier Kama was won by Ms. Elspeth at the second party and congratulates her. There will be two more giveaways of increasing value at the next two parties for the "know your host game". The games are to be held about half way through the party to allow for late arrivals and a large pool of contestants.

MINSTRELS!!! Another notice placed just below it states that all minstrels performing at least 3 songs will be paid a commission of 200 gold and are allowed to participate in the feast put forth at the party, as well as set out a tip jar. Special commissions paid to performers who go all out, as the hosts see fit. Lannia adds that unfortunately the past two minstrels did not collect their commissions, and asks that they see her for their pay. ((Anna and Elspeth, pls come get some money)) In the event that too many minstrels come to play at one party, their names will be added to the first of the list for the next party, and the list for both will be determined by "first come, first play."

For anyone asking, Lannia and the staff would explain that this series of parties is to send off the final winter weeks with warming food and laughter. They are also promotional events to make people aware of the anchor, its services, and to try out new items the proprietors would like to add to the menu.

Mini Suasage links - A mini wild game sausage link, seasoned and smoked with a beautiful redish smoke line. Some are smoothered in a savory sauce with toothpicks to pick them out of it. Some are dried to the point that they have shriveled lightly like a kippered suasage jerky snack. Both dishes flank a dish of aged, sharp cheese.

Aged sharp cheddar - A favorite savory cheese to accompany red wine, sausage or fruit alike. Less a dish of its own and more a compliment to everything else that is served.

Roasted peppers - Halfed, seeded, filled with cheese and wrapped in bacon, these bite sized snacks are addicting... If you can take the heat. They pair marvelously with the smooth, hearty, venison stew.

Fruit Leather - Various fresh fruits are cooked and pureed then poured out thin and allowed to dried into a sweet, chewy strip of fruit leather. A sugar boost for the road, these delicious snacks laugh in the face of those who say trail rations must be bland. If kept dry, they will last for ages.

Yeast rolls - These fluffy rolls are light and warm. A light hint of salty yeast and spongy inside make them a perfect dipping and mopping bread from the bottom of the soup bowl.

Blueberry Mint Warm Lemon Tea - Sweet wild blueberries float in this lemon rind and mint leaf steeped tea. The blueberries and lemon lay bright and sweet on the tongue blending smoothly with a dark black tea. A pleasing sweep of mint leaves a refreshing aftertaste.[/center]

Derik Ranloss: That cave was very cozy and warm indeed.... but unfortunately...
Ibris: Uuuuunfortunately! The cavern was actually a large, wet, toothy mouth!
Marneiros Duskwalker: And in the middle of this cavern nobody expected to find...
Teris Ynarno: Um... alright... they didn't expect to find... a... an avatar of Tyr.
Natariél: The Avatar of Tyr in the middle of this cave was... naked. chuckles
Alrik Olafsson: This Avatar was naked with a blonde wig, thus he decided to kidnap the dragon, flying out of the huge mouth.
Guide Alexandra Keenan: "Unfortunately, just when the aspect of Tyr thought Himself and his draconic conquest free of the gaping maw, they were beset by a pack of wild..."
Calad Damien Rokh: "adventurers, whom were mostly turned to stone, could only move with very minute pelvic thrusts to slide their feet about."
Birch: "Taking pity, the naked avatar and its draconic love took the statue-esque adventurers, who were equally naked, along for the journey, until they reached..."
Lannia Ranloss: THE TAILOR! Until they reached the tailor who was surprised to say the least.
Iris Sorin: clears her throat And thusly, the tailor said unto them: Find me the brances of the meriweather tree and I shall clad thee...
Derik Ranloss: "The branches of the meriweather tree?" the dragon exclaimed. "Next you'll be needing us to cut down the strongest oak in the woods with a hering! We just need clothes!"
Birch: Mister Tree lifts up another log and carefully places it in the fire, before manning the small bellows and ensuring the room stays well lit and comfortably warm.
Ibris: The tailor took great offense at this and turned out to be a terrible wizard! He cursed them all to a life of nudtiy in which the slightest touch of fabric would cause the most horrendous of rash!
Marneiros Duskwalker: But wizards being wizards, there was more to it, something really unexpected
Teris Ynarno: The spell also... attracted lots of tiny rabbts, each small enough to fit in the palm of a child's hand!
Alrik Olafsson: Thing is, those were not simple rabbits: they were wererabbits, ready to strike at the avatar. But...
Maurmeril Jvianin: . . . they were not alone, and not safe from a great terror, for . . .
Guide Alexandra Keenan: "...unbeknownst to them, the angry father of the captured dragon loomed just over the horizon! And he..."
Calad Damien Rokh: " knowing the way, began to feverishly flap his miniscule wings, sending his horde of desks asunder and render his visage tall."
Birch: "But then the wizard showed up once more, turning the dragon father into another fuzzy were bunny..."
Iris Sorin: But the... band of adventurers were in luck, for they had with them...
Lannia Ranloss: A wand of ploymorph, and so they changed everyone present into sprites, who all flew away.

The Last Anchor congratulates Othonis for winning the "Know Your Host Game" and selecting a stack of healing kits from the available prizes.

Derik and Lannia, owners of the last anchor were seen fishing with friends, new and old. On the beach that day were Dimitry, Rania, Addallan, Teris, Elrinia, Malign, and Percy. Derik and Lannia had stellar luck, bringing in a number of stringers full of fresh fish to the Anchor.

Fish caught:

5 beautiful Halibut all between 5 and 11 stone ((80-150lbs))
1 sting ray
2 small octopi
3 enormous marlin between 50 and 110 stone each
5 delicate dinner plate sized flouders
6 large sea bass about half a stone each ((<7lbs))
6 red snappers roughly 2 stones each
3 rock crabs
10 emerald grunts under a foot each
9 white grunts about a foot in length
9 mottled groupers from 2 to 7 stone each
7 red groupers of less varied weighs just under 4 stones each

Various dishes will be served over the next few days starring the fresh catch drawn in by the pair. Smoked fish, chowders, and patte will be served for some time after. Mara is working feverishly with Lannia in the kitchen and a menu will be published soon.

Stingray Pepper Stew with Green Perilla



Fresh stingray and Halibut in oil, red pepper paste, nut milk, green perilla leaves, and fermented fish sauce. Served with seasoned steamed rice or unleavened flatbread and a pint of ale or glass of white house wine!

Appetizer of Fried Octopus or Crab Cakes
The octopi caught are small and tender, not big enough to fill a proper pickling barrel! So small and sucullent.





Served freshly fried and hot with your choice of tartar sauce, spiced cocktail sauce, creamy pepper sauce, or tossed in a light sprinkle of vinegar.

For the next three days unless we run out or catch more!

Halibut, marlin, or grouper steaks served;

Steamed with fresh herbs,


Pocket baked with garlic, lemon and seasonings,


Grilled and basted with oil either on a resin plank or over an open fire,

Lannia continues to pull fish from the harbor with her superior fishing skills. All the the specails are extend into the next week. In addition she catches a large amount of stingray, and posts a sting ray feast, asking visitors to vote for their favorite recipe!
