Give Phantom access to Rogue Flails/maces
As in the topic stated.
Give Phantom class access to the Rogue flails/maces in the Mermaid Tavern.
Maybe even add Katana to Phantom weapon profiency or martial weapons to support their eastern background.

I ll always imagine the class as dual wielding katanas.
We should add Katan weapon profiency and Oversized TwoWeaponFighting.

But considering how proficiencies are granted in NWN2, to give them flails you need to give them Martial Weapon Proficiency, and to give them Katanas, you need to give them Exotic Weapon Proficiency.

Hmmm... all dwarves just get Dwarven Waraxe prof., not exotic weapon profiency.
Those flails in the Mermaid tavern have Rogue added as classes to use them as have other flails/maces you can find. I tought it was possible to also add the Phantom class to them.

Because Dwarven Weapon Proficiency grants the proficiency to wield Dwarven War Axe, there is no such thing for just flails and katanas.

Yeah, you re probably right that there is such a feat missing in the engine. Maybe its doable to create such a feat, maybe not.
Tough you still can add Phantom to those Rogue maces/flails to use them with Phantom class.

Re: Give Phantom access to Rogue Flails/maces
Maces are simple weapons, so you got a profiency for those. Flails still require Martial Weapon Proficiency feat.
Are you saying that the weapons are restricted by class? If so, no harm with adding Phantom there.
But considering how Ninjas (Phantoms on the server) in real life are kind of supposed to be able to use pretty much all weapons available to them, especially improvised weapons, it would make sense for them to have all Weapon Proficiencies by default.

I am under the impression that Phantom gets Rogue Sneak Attack dice, so Blinding Strike that works based on Rogue Sneak attack dice should already work. You just do not get the Rogue level bonus to DC or something... I have not tried it though.

Could we please simply add Phantom to the restricted class list of all items with "Ninja" in the name.
Possibly also some Monk only items and Rogue items.
The Phantom class currently requires UMD or multiclass to use any of the items they are likely to actually use.
The Ninja class can not use any Ninja items without first learning how to use magical devices.

This can be accomplished by modifying the feat required to equip in baseitems.2da
Strongly support adding katana to monk proficiency list

Re: Give Phantom access to Rogue Flails/maces
This is accurate. Rogues get +1 DC per 5 rogue levels. However, even without Rogue it's worth it as a feat. 10 + Sneak Dice + 6 (at level 30) or 16 + sneak dice could still have a DC as high as 32 or more with epic feats which is still strong.Sun Wukong wrote:I am under the impression that Phantom gets Rogue Sneak Attack dice, so Blinding Strike that works based on Rogue Sneak attack dice should already work. This is exactly why it was renamed Phantom from Ninja - in order to distance it from that eastern background. So no.Hendrak wrote: Maybe even add Katana to Phantom weapon profiency or martial weapons to support their eastern background.
I thought Phantom already got the Rogue Weapon Proficiency feat...? Definitely have Simple, at least, in which maces are.

Could we get 'hand crossbows' and animal companions then?Deathgrowl wrote:This is exactly why it was renamed Phantom from Ninja - in order to distance it from that eastern background. So no.
