Background: Rensari grew up in Thay as the second son of landless Mulan nobles. Rensari spent his formative years being groomed as a vehicle for his parent's social advancement. Within a military career among the ranks of Eltabbar's warriors, Rensari earned distinction in several conflicts with rashemeni malcontents, slaying the oppressed tribesmen with brutal and cold efficiency. Fairly Early on in his career he had the good fortune to be -discovered- by an Alakir named Thras'zar.
Rensari was also lucky enough to have the attention of a young mulan sorceress and the two passed many an off hour together, using his connection to Thras'zar Renrsari smuggled books on arcane knowledge to the woman. Eventually, things turned sour as a rival Barakir named Thral'hrat took an interest in Chasra (The Mulan sorceress) having followed the trail of the missing tomes to her. In an act of stupid desperation typical of a young man, Rensari attempted to flee with Chasra from Thay. Abandoning his own duties and earning the status of a deserter Rensari had little recourse when Thal'hrat and his guards attacked. In the ensuing scuffle, Rensari managed to blind one of Thal'hrat's bodyguards. As punishment, the wizard gouged out Ren's right eye leaving his body for Thras'zar to find and dispose of.
It was by luck that a roaming Hoarite stumbled upon Rensari, tending to his more serious wounds and carting him away. The Hoarite known as Borvar spent several moons showing Rensari the ways of Hoar and teaching him of retribution and proportional punishment. Cut off from family ties Rensari found himself at the bottom of Thayan society an outlaw and a deserter among a fiercely nationalistic people. Rensari roamed taking odd jobs for coin when he could to feed himself as he aimlessly thought of ways to mete out retribution.
Unable to reach Chasra nor make any meaningful life for himself so close to home Rensari spent three years travelling the continent eventually coming to rest along the sword coast. It is here he hopes to make his fortune and draw powerful friends to help him reunite with his lady and achive retribution.
