Bard/conjurer builds
Pretty open to any build, as long as it has Bard and Thaumaturge levels. As far as I know, you can't actually search that custom class on the nwn2 build database, so I was hoping that people would be kind enough to post any that they may know of, or just so happen to have conveniently bookmarked? Maybe? Please?

Re: Bard/conjurer builds
Hmmm....A Bard can't really be a Thaumaturge since they don't get the Planar Binding or Planar Ally spells I don't think. However, Bard opens up StormSinger which can advance non-Bard Spell Casting Classes. So you could do something like B3/C12/SS10/T5 which would give you a CL30 Cleric that also has a small number of Bard Song uses. You could of course substitute Cleric for Wizard or Sorcerer if you prefer.
Note that Bards can qualify for Thaumaturge, but without Planar Binding or Calling or 9th level summoning spells they will be so weak as to not be worth it.

Oh! I didn't know they didn't get it, I just assumed it would work out. Hah. Well crap, I guess that sort of puts a stop to that.chad878262 wrote:Note that Bards can qualify for Thaumaturge, but without Planar Binding or Calling or 9th level summoning spells they will be so weak as to not be worth it.

You could call you cohort via scroll. The rest of the abilities would at least apply to the regular summoning that bards can get (up to VI I think?)
Not sure if it's mechanically wise, but could have a cool RP angle, and the bard inspirations and buffs may work well together.

Neither do Druids or Spirit Shamans, but they can certainly be thaumaturges (whether it's worth it or not is another question).chad878262 wrote:Hmmm....A Bard can't really be a Thaumaturge since they don't get the Planar Binding or Planar Ally spells I don't think.
I don't think it would be mechanically worth it for a bard either, even if it is possible.

That's why I suggested the StormSinger route, which allows you to have Bard levels...though I suppose you aren't really a bard at that point since it's just a dip.Deathgrowl wrote:Neither do Druids or Spirit Shamans, but they can certainly be thaumaturges (whether it's worth it or not is another question).chad878262 wrote:Hmmm....A Bard can't really be a Thaumaturge since they don't get the Planar Binding or Planar Ally spells I don't think.

There you go, it works as an end result, but it is a long road: http://nwn2db.com/build/?284480Abox18 wrote:Pretty open to any build, as long as it has Bard and Thaumaturge levels.
And you could make a Bard 20/Paler Master 10 to get bunch of Undead Summons.
Edit: You could also make a strength based Bard 23/Barbarian 3/Thaumaturge 4. Basically you buff up your summon, and fight alongside it. It would be the far more convenient build to use.

Huh. Can undead be affected by Inspire Courage? In P&P they don't get morale bonuses IIRC, so I never considered the merits of undead horde + bard song on NWN2.And you could make a Bard 20/Paler Master 10 to get bunch of Undead Summons.

Yep. Undead gain the benefits of every Inspiration except Inspire Regeneration. That has no effect on them.

http://nwn2db.com/build/?284498 <= Here is a Bard 23/Barbarian 3/Thaumaturge 4
About Palemaster though, how do the undead improve with additional Pale Master levels? Just looking at how you could get both Create Undead and Animate Dead with just 4 levels in the PRC, which would mean earlier "Legionnaire's March" - and allow you to mix in some HIGH BAB progression class to get that 21+ BAB for your summons. (Before Inspirations and Buffs.)

Re: Bard/conjurer builds
You're doing it wrong if you're only getting 21 BAB
Scroll or potion of Divine Power for 30 BAB, then Legionnaire's.
