Build challenge for a POINTY STICK OF SILENCE!

So... I just found a spear with just this property:
On Hit: Silence DC=14 5% / 5 Rounds

What kind of build would you make to use it? I imagine something with Greater Magic Weapon.

I guess favored soul / Stormlord ... A bit boring perhaps, but yeah ...
That's what I'd probably do with that weapon

Honestly, I'd toss it.. there are so many better items out there.. and for a 5% chance with that low of a DC.. it's never going to go off. Hate to be the downer, but truth.

5% of hits is virtually worthless for a on hit property. Give me 25% and I will get excited. I might have even offered you lots of gold for a 25% on hit property but 5% nah I will pass.

However given the right % of on hit I would put Kory back to his original FvS/R/WM build with CL24 and watch the crits of 150+ just ring out with a spear it is amazing I miss those days in fact before the dispel fix......Only thing that hurts was a mords and if I had a spear of silence it would be a non issue at that point!

Another alternative would be some Hoar worshipper. I guess. Although with Stormlord I would go for wisdom based cleric, just to make the damage by the spear less potent... Hence trigger the effect slightly more often.

You know... At first I was going to complain about the caster level of that thing... But that build is really something worth of serious consideration.

I'd likely drop WM to 5 and increase Druid to 7 so you gain access to level 9 spells. Just personal preference on my part...Even if you drop Blindfight, Elephant Hide or Toughness in favor of Practiced Caster you still only hit CL21 so easily dispelled, but level 9 spells, even if dispellable are tough to pass up. I might actually drop Toughness and Elephant Hide in favor of Practiced Caster and Extend Spell... If you get dispelled you should still have backup spells to rebuff and you will be item dependent anyway.

Don't see why GMW is all that necessary... There is an item that can allow you to cast it for +3 as well as to apply keen property to it. I like the build, but it does have the issue of requiring you to avoid certain area's that have too many dispels and would strip your wards far too often (such as Yuan-Ti / Naga's).

In that case, paladin30. Or something. Anything with GMW, to be honest. Any gish, cleric or favoured soul. Stormlord would work, but what's the point. It's just a spear with a fancy effect that barely ever is going to happen. 5% chance for the extremely low DC to even fire isn't worth much...

Also Vault of the Dead is now dropping insane amounts of Greater Dispels too. I get hit at least 6+ times in a run of that place. On a bad day you can get hit with Greater Dispel 6 times on the first floor alone! Yeah them avengers is really a bad day for a low CL build!
