I haven't tried this, but just reading up on the BG Wiki about summoning named beings: https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title=Summoning
I'm wondering, is it possible to call a named being by using a scroll? This is mainly about non-casters who don't have access to one of the Planar Ally/Binding spells. It means they'd have to use a scroll each time. But would that even work?
No idea on the mechanics here, just trying to learn from you pros out there.

Assuming you can pass your Lore & Diplomacy checks and have the right gem/spell to bind your creature to/with... it might work?

I would assume it would work.
I actually made a bard/thaum at one point in time, relying on planar scrolls for his thauma-homie. It worked. I think this process uses those same mechanics?
