Re: we just have a crash
The server just had a hard reset / crash. From the look of things, its running a server backup from about six hours ago.
I logged out last night with an empty inventory from selling loot, and a considerable amount of gold. Logged back in and my gold is gone, and most of my loot is back.
Considering all the loot is not back, I can tell the backup server copy was made sometime in the last 6-8 hours.

The server doesn't roll back onto backups unless there's an update involved.

Re: we just have a crash
I'm telling you it did rollback, and it did it just about 20-30 minutes ago. I'm simply guessing at why it did it, but it did include a crash.
I habitually manually save, so this is not user end. It also much more harshly effected Lockonnow, and probably others. I was lucky enough not to be too heavily effected. I'm simply stating what happened so admin can examine the incident.

Re: we just have a crash
As the person responsible for the technical aspect of the server, I'll try to explain.
The module is not running on a backup, it is operating on revision 1949 (with a few manual exploit hole patches added in), and it's resources on 593. If it were running on a backup you would be downloading hak assets again from revisions prior to last week's update.
The server vault, which maintains character asset information (BICs in this case), is also not running on a backup, else we would not have character saves this morning of players that haven't returned during the period indicated. If you have a character that did not save, and was on the server at the time of a crash, the BIC file will not reflect any new change from the last point of the BIC save to the present time of the crash.

Re: we just have a crash
Lockonnow, I just bought a Greatsword with +1 fire damage (no other effects) at the regular merchant (not AH) in FAI. Any chance that's the one you lost?

Re: we just have a crash
Aspect, maybe things aren't saving correctly then?
It is a fact that Lockonnow, Pan-some, and myself were running a party for several hours last night. We also all know what we had from that adventure. I had 3 pages of items, teleported to Beregost, sold everything but 7 trollhides, saved repeatedly and logged for the night with 50k in gold. Logged back in with 30k gold, 3 trollhides, and a page of loot and 3 items on the second page. Sold everything again at Beregost for a total of 42k at the end.
I know for a fact this happened, and am sucking up the EXP and loot lost. Not a big deal. However, Lockonnow lost his primary weapon somehow. He's been very upset over it, and been talking in game about leaving the server to play other games over this. He is very fustrated, even if he isn't communicating what happened very well.
If this wasn't a rollback, then saving stopped working yesterday at some point. I know that I manually click SAVE from the PC Menu after EVERY kill, loot, or item sale. I do that habitually just to prevent this. If its not a server wide rollback, then something must have caused our characters not to save their progress. Possibly a glitch in some anti-duplication script or the like? I don't know... I just know what I've seen.
