Best summon for Thaumaturge type build.

Best summon for Thaumaturge type build.
I've been mostly using Greater Planar Binding and using "Ghaele". Although she does not seem to have as good as stats as the Summoning IV summon, she seems to do a heck of a lot better and will rarely die, whereas, the Summon IV boar I use seems to get his butt handed to him. So I guess my questions would be A). Is Ghaele the best Planar Binding summon to use? B). If I remove the Summon IV from my spell list will my Contingent Summoning allow me to use Planar Binding as the go to spell and would there be any benefits to this? C). What is going to be the final HD of my summons and will it be useful?

Never had a Thaumaturge.
a) No idea. But if it gets the job done, it gets the job done. I know the server has rest timers, but doesn't mean you cannot just try out different summon options.
b) Contingent Summoning mentions highest known spell, not memorized spell. Thus if as a wizard you remove spells from your spell book, I think it should work. Otherwise the ability should just slide upwards on spell levels as you gain more levels.
c) I believe this page has the information you desire: link. The list of spells lists the default HD of summons. The list with feats tells how those base HDs can be made higher to maximum of 24 HD.

Ghaele is ok. She is solid, has +4 enhancement to her weapon so you dont need to buff GMW on her. She also has a group health regen (forgot the name off hand) and a heal.
She isn't the best.
Honestly there are good summons, and the "What were they thinking" summons. I meant the latter in the a negative connotation.
Qorrashi is solid tank, doesn't do as much damage as needed but solid.
All of the Slaads are great for caster pets
Firre is my favorite. You have to buff everything about him, but his bard song does grant a bit of damage for the party which is nice. Especially when you have 4-7 Summons out at one time. That translates into a lot of damage gain.
The Bralani is a solid caster choice, but eventually she runs out of spells and just punches things.
She isn't the best.

If the text is this color, I am on duty, everything else is just my humble opinion.
