Draconic Heritage reqs?

Unread post by Steve »

Draconic Heritage is a heritage feat, right? So it should only be able to be taken at Lvl 1, right?

But on the BGTSCC Wiki, it is listed as a heritage Feat in the Regular Feats section, but not on the Heritage Feat specific page (maybe just not tagged right?).

https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title ... c_Heritage

Fey and Fiendish show the reqs. of must be taken at Lvl 1.

So what is the real scoop here? I'll edit the Wiki, if someone can confirm for me. Cheers.

Just not tagged right, it's an heritage feat that can only be taken at level 1 with no requirements.

Any chance that it could be more.... just more? It is a whole feat and I want to use it as a theme, but it just doesn't have enough oomph

The idea is to introduce more dragon related spells, which will gradually make the feat more interesting.

Used in combination with Draconic Power and EDM ending of 21 STR / CHA 21—a typical split—you gain +1 AB/DMG (+2 dmg if 2-handed) and +2 on EDM dmg. It is quite a boost already for Paladin builds, though to really shine you need to suffer a bit in other ways, for a build.

An example:

One could even min/max the above build, should they prefer.

I'd say the power gain from taking 1 Feat—Draconic Heritage—is rather good. But where I see it falter is that there are few options for utilizing it, like Chambo says, it really is for Paladins and that's that.

Would be cool if it worked for the Evil side of the coin, just as well.

Well, it is a heritage feat, so being useful primarily for paladins is nice and all, but what of 99% of the other classes? I know it has some spell bonuses like lasting a minute longer or whatnot, it just feels lackluster and extremely niche.

Valefort, I agree if there was a line of feats like the Fey, that would make things very interesting.

I tend to agree with ya Hawke. It does feel like a niche feat.
Wanted to include it in a couple builds, but couldn't justify it on a few grounds.

Been wanting to make a druid of Tiamat. You can guess what the end game power horse will be in that build.
Not that DDruids need any help in game, but having some dragon heritage feats that added flavour to their abilities would be pretty awesome. Yes, they have some spells, like primal speed etc. But... well, the bait isn't enticing enough for this fish to take a bite.

Right now... I'd say it feels more like an RP feat. Which is fine and not a negative, I have to add. Probably due to the other available choices.

Also back on the evil topic. It does feel like it's weighted to Goody Paladins/Sorc builds.
Can this be used for blackguard builds? Thayan knight or something perhaps? Surely there are "evil paladins/knights" of Bane, Bhaal, etc ?
