I've recently returned to this server after years of absense and so far I've had some great roleplaying experiences with the folks.
The server seems to have evolved nicely over the years and one of the things that I was really interested was to check out all of the new custom changes that the developers have added to the server. Like in the old days I started by checking the server rules section, where I found list of all of the Prestige Classes. Using that information I RCR'ed one of my old characters to get the access to the new heads and hairstyles, etc.
Some time after that I found from a fellow player that there's now a wiki available with the most updated information, so I checked it out and I found out that there was a critical conflict with the build: The Black Flame Zealot (now called Darkfire Disciple) had been completely redesigned:
• The old forum thread: https://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=49035
• The wiki page: https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title ... e_Disciple
Now I realized that my build may be broken beyond repair and I may have to RCR the toon again (along with the exp hit) to accomodate the changes. While I appreciate the chance to team up with some lower levels again to find some combat RP, this was a nasty blow. I also doubt that I'm going to be the only one to notice these problems, as the forums tend to be the primary source of information for most new people. Quite honestly with all the threads available, I didn't even realize that there was a separate wiki site, before I found out about it from another player.
Therefore, I wanted to make this thread and kindly ask if it'd be possible to update the outdated information from these old threads?
When the content changes regularily, it may be difficult to keep track of things in multiple locations. I've worked with similar IT issues in my career before and personally I'd advise to use one data source and establish links to it. From the top of my head this could be achieved f.e. by:
• embedding the rule pages from the wikia via iframe (or some other means)
• replacing the Prestige Class table sections with an external link to the wikia page.
This way the content would always be up to date, even if browsed from multiple sources.
It's great to be back regardless, and I look forward in catching you guys IG soon!

Re: Outdated Custom content rule threads
Most likely the wiki will become the primary source of information and the old threads will be archived. Although it's nice having redundancy for backup purposes, it's not the best use of time to have to update two information depots!
For all intents and purposes, however, the wiki should likely be trusted over the threads at present time.

Re: Outdated Custom content rule threads
That'd be good.
My point was mainly to note that as an old player I too thought that the forums are the primary source of information, and I didn't even know about the existance of the wiki before someone told me. I believe that this may be even more likely with new people.
To avoid turning the matter into too laborsome, perhaps even some sort of major text warning about potentially outdated content at the very beginning of the first post with a link to the wiki would reduce the unnecessary confusion and mistakes.
