Are the Weavemasters still around?
If not, would anyone be opposed or interested in their revival?

Didn't the Weavemasters get banned from BG? Or was that just Charraj?

Re: Are the Weavemasters still around?
There are several players of Weavemasters still around, some with Weavemasters still in their vault, though no actively played characters that I am aware of.
Charraj ran their name into the dirt while most of the founding members were away from the server. There have been a few RP sessions of those founders over the years, though none that I have been involved with for at least 2-3?
Based on my experience I dont think anyone would mind you reviving the faction, so long as you respected the lore of the guild as it was created (meaning feel free to put your spin on a re-birth, just dont rewrite history to do so).
A few others may chime in. Most of them are on super secret alt accounts now.

I think it would be pretty cool to see. I've always felt like "non-evil wizard guild" is an underrepresented niche on our server.

Well if any former members would pm me with advice/tips/lore it would be appreciated. If anyone opposes it just let me know.
I'll start trying to read what I can on the forum tonight.

Re: Are the Weavemasters still around?
I think that has been your perception and misunderstanding for some time, yes. However this was a guild separate from whatever title and or ability that your conflating with Elminster that was established and RPed for at least a couple years.

Planehopper well you can say what you will about me but i know others have debate couse we didt wish to take something about from Elminster if he is the only tilte he sould keep it or eles we will have have made a prc call Weavmaster like we dont take other title like Magister to use when there can only be one but you dont give dime couse you so proud to one of the first Weave master with you brother and Cort Thundershot but that was in the past and it was nothing more then a you couldt keep a live so it die and the red wizard take over the tower how bad was that

Re: Are the Weavemasters still around?
There are some threads with more and discussions, though some may have been purged. Check the old proboard forums too. I'll try to find them all and send you a PM.AlwaysSummer Day wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 12:37 pm Well if any former members would pm me with advice/tips/lore it would be appreciated. I'd think any attempts to revive them could make for good RP. You certainly won't hear me opposing it!AlwaysSummer Day wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:38 amIf not, would anyone be opposed or interested in their revival?

Re: Are the Weavemasters still around?
Every time it has been attempted during my time on the server (so at least six or seven times), it's always become really shady, really quick. Because every neutral-but-really-evil palemaster and blood mage wants to be in it.
Alright, I'll grant that is a bit cynical a view.
But the point is that it's always ended up being opposed to good-aligned things in one way or another. That's not to say all members were drawn in that direction, but I have a suspicion it contributed to the guilds' failures.
If someone wants to make a non-evil mage guild, it is probably easiest to make it last by giving it a clear goal that will work to help the "team good". Even if many members are neutral, they'd be on the sort of good-aligned side of neutral and would rather have good neighbours than evil. So they could still be somewhat selfish and require payment for their services, but they'd deny giving service to the evils.
That's my take on it, at least.
