BGTSCC Armor Project sponsored by Duke Eltan inc.
Hello BGTSCC Community. I am athornforyourheart, the Media Team Coordinator. Over the last few months we've been developing new content for you all to enjoy. Just recently a new armor pack was made available to the player base: BG by BG
In this pack you'll find a series of armors not pertaining to any particular class or armor type - more like a variety of ported armors from various fields. Some are fantasy while some are medieval. Armors can also arrange from realistic to the abstract. While we do try and account for what players like to play most, we will always try and keep an open mind to what would best suit players who may otherwise not be so vocal in the forums. I have swore an oath to the people of this land that I will attempt to deliver 100 human male and female armors. Why human? It's simple. The human armature (skeleton model used in game) is shared along a variety of races.
This does not mean dwarves and orc's will not receive the love. I do not have a definite number set in mind for how many releases these races will receive but I will do my best to provide plenty.
Feedback can be extremely productive in terms of hashing out bugs, weighting issues, and improper mapping. There WILL be errors as I do not currently have a host of beta testers - this is to be expected. Errors will be fixed in a timely manner. If such bugs are found, please report them in the proper thread via the bug reports and please don't be over dramatic about it. Simply stating ""ARMOR X" has "XX" wrong wit it: screenshot below:" works. No need to toss in some comical reference.
Please also bare in mind that our designers work hard on these armors ( hours upon the day) to get these releases to you. IT IS a TEDIOUS process but all done for you. So should you want to provide criticism do it in a tasteful and mature matter please.
TINTING ---------- IMPORTANT
Tint maps are a pain in the @$$ to make. They can be tricky and provide some rather distasteful results if not done properly. As stated earlier, things happen. Maps are only allowed three tints in total. Normally, I reserve 1 tint for the skin so that players can adjust the skin components of their armor to match their face and neck. The other two I find what I feel are the most interesting parts of the armor that would allow the most dynamic changes. I then apply the tints there. Some models have a high variety of clothing and accessories to spread two tints across - best example of this being belts, belt accessories, necklaces, jewelry, and so forth. For some some models I will leave the belts un-tintable. This is done purposely since its probably the most realistic aspect of an armor that is less likely to be tinted. The thought of having a banana yellow armor and the belt being yellow is just... too much. Hopefully this can help some players understand why some components cannot be colored.
TINT COLORING SKIN FOR INAPPROPRIATE REASONS will get you called out on - especially if i see it. I state this now because I create MANY armors and I try my best to leave as much customization I can to the players. Some armors I've blacked out certain "areas" whilst other's I afford the opportunity for players to color. You will stumble upon armors like this, just please remember this is a PG13 Server.
As time progresses on this project. I will be using this thread to post the newest completions so that players may have a bit more transparency as to what Media Team is doing and will be adding in terms of the armor project.
THIS PROJECT PAGE (OP) WILL BE UPDATED AT RANDOM
Thank you everyone.
Armors reflect in black and white due to tint mapping reasons.
