Hymns of the Afterlife
Chapter 1: Hymn of Witnesses

In life there are many paths available for us who walk the lands of the living and explore the dream-scapes of death. Some paths are apparent with stone roads, light and signs to guide you along your way. But within these paths are those that require a keen eye and a sharp mind to witness their existence. Paths that follow a darker route that non have ever walked before. Paths that some might say were made specifically for you, for in life and death everyone must choose which path is correct for them or be judged to those who falter. Take heed those who would walk the path, follow your choices in life so that ye who would walk again into their maze of memories in the afterlife may find their way into the everlasting arms of the maker. To those who have fallen and failed who have lost their way in ignorance, veil or oblivion hear my words.

"We stand at a crossroads,"
"We look at all the routes ahead,"
"Our lives stretch before us,"
"Which road will we tread?"

"You may turn and look behind you,"
"At all your years gone by,"
"The choices you have made in life,"
"Will determine your sigh."

"You must reach a choice,"
"For all life must go on,"
"Be not plagued with insecurity,"
"Do not linger but be calm."

"The routes ahead will vanish,"
"They will fade and crumble into dust,"
"You must follow your heart no matter cost,"
"In light or darkness do you trust?"

"Be confident in your choice,"
"For the answer is clear,"
"The after-life becons you,"
"All you must do,"

"Is get there."

~ Batibat Kok-Lir Kasdeya, Flamerune 1st, 1355 DR. ~

Not all will succeed in their journey. Some will fail to choose and forever be trapped into their life's maze for eternity due to their indecisiveness. Failing to walk your maze into the afterlife is a truly terrible conclusion to your story, but it is not the end. For there is still hope even if all seems lost. For we, who witness your walk towards the after-life may still give upon you who has become lost, a second chance.

Come forward lost ones. . . Seek our guidance and learn from your mistakes. For we who seek mastery over death and foresight of future divination may light the way, but we cannot walk with you. We may only witness your progress and watch your results. For you must pass your trials or be tormented into oblivion.
"For we are those who witness." - For it is us foresee the faithful be judged to their fate and to bring those who have failed their maze back from amongst the soils to walk again. . . and again. . . and again until they get it right.

"For we are those who judge." - For it is the lords above who see what we see and through our eyes they may watch and judge your decisions showcased amongst mortal discretion.

"For we are those who recreate." - For it is they who we watch, witness and judge who have failed and met their end. Those who have died fall victim to a journey in spirit. They must be confident in their trek across afterlife maze or they will lose their way from the challenges ahead. Thus it is up to us to drag you back to the beginning and allow you a second chance from damnation.

~ Batibat Kok-Lir Kasdeya, Flamerune 13th, 1355 DR. ~

(( This is an introductory to a custom belief being created and preached by Batibat currently. Some characters have already heard of this belief themselves in character, but I thought it would be a good time to fully develop the teaching Batibat is giving the masses who speak to her! So over time I will be further developing this page with Batibat's belief of afterlife and undead teaching. Anyone who has met Batibat and has been given a lecture or a book of witnesses may use this information as in character knowledge! ))

Hymns of the Afterlife
Chapter 2: Hymn of Knowledge

Do not look to death as an end, but a new beginning. For in death your life holds meaning and in undeath your history lies locked away in your new mind and body. To unlock that history requires a sacrifice to be made. It requires submission and trust upon your creations and yourself. All undead who walk with us hold the key to their history and the lock to their historic knowledge. It is in their minds, yet there has been no scholar adept enough to seek it out. Through study and spell it could be achieved but it will take a combined effort of us all. The art of Necromancy holds so many secrets, yet the research of it has been delayed and halted by those who are scared to face death in the eyes and learn the truth. They will tear you down, destroy all that you've learned, sully your name and have you hide in fear of the hunt. Yet we will try and try again, in the darkest corners and inhabitable terrains. For we know the ultimate power lies in necromancy, and infinite knowledge lies in the dead that once walked Toril all those years ago.
Remember my words and speak them true for in the eyes of The Dead Three do we pray:
"My prayers are to all of those who follow the path of necromancy..."

"It is..."
Why I fight. Why I live.

My Greatest Power and My Greatest Bane.

The source of my knowledge, siphoned away.

In the minds of the dead, to me they pray.

One by one they raise from their sleep, to be granted a purpose that they will complete.

My All Seeing Eyes, My infinite college.

The key to my spell, of Infinite Knowledge.

Hymns of the Afterlife
Chapter 3: Hymn of Creation
Like the hammer held at the hands nearby forge and anvil of the great blacksmiths of Toril,

Like the hoe held by the of the farmers who plow the fields and supply the feast and festivities to all,

Through axe and pick the laborers of Toril work endlessly to gather the materials needed to further mortal creation and experimentation.

Unlike the mundane equipment used by many, magic is the ultimate tool held by few. With magic do we find ways to over-come the impossibilities of mortal life and bring forth creation that would have been impossible for the artificers hammer to achieve alone. Creation is the objective in all things that revolve in our imagination and magic is the final tool needed to manifest these thoughts from our minds into the world as we know.

Use this notion wisely as creation can be utilized in many ways. Necromancy is often understood as the ultimate end alongside the art of evocation that is to destroy what is created. However it is under the teaching of the Hymns of the Afterlife that Necromancy can be used as the ultimate creator alongside Conjuration as new un-life is given to what was once dead and the tools of the past work-force put to the task of of creation towards what was once destroyed. Heed to the teachings of the Hymns of the Afterlife as the power of the ultimate school of magic will tempt those who choose to use it for chaos. But to those who hold-fast and adhere to their oaths against chaos and with a lawful end:

"Let your workers rise from their graves to take up their tools yet again, and your knights awake from their slumber to hold their shield and crest in defense of your work-force and the foundation of the graves they have laid for themselves."
