so! yeah, as the title says, I'm an old player planning on coming back.
I'm used to playing bards (B 27/ X 3), but thought about changing the playstyle a bit. I enjoy skilled characters, so this build really caught my eye. is it still playable in the server's current state? would you guys recommend some tweaks or better builds with similar style?
oh, and my only restrictions would be race (human, elf, half-elf or tiefling) and alignment (no evil).

well, the build is by Valefort so it probably works at least passably. Note that Swashbuckler has received some pretty solid improvements in the past (maybe 2 years ago now). We have a Wiki that you might appreciate perusing as well so the SB changes can be reviewed (and others if you so chose).

Considering the Feat spread, if you want to RP a good alignment, you could swap Divine Champion for Anointed Knight. You'd get a +1 elemental dmg bonus in your main hand weapon, like Fire, which is always useful against Trolls and Undead. Or take the Massive Crit bonus.
In general it's on the low side for dmg, but is all around a good build. It's too bad the UMD is so low, but if your PC invests in potions, it'll work out.

Why not change the playstyle a lot?The Last Question wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 3:57 pm I'm used to playing bards (B 27/ X 3), but thought about changing the playstyle a bit.
I recommend you try a completely alien class...and race and alignment, while Im at it.
Roll a paladin or necromancer. Or a barb/monk/cleric/assassin-lock.
Is there a class/race/alignment/religion that you always ment to play but never got around to?
My least favorite class is bard. I should try it....

Hey, thanks for that! I really forgot about UMD - used to take it for granted on my previous chars. That kinda makes me think about it.Steve wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2019 2:30 pm Considering the Feat spread, if you want to RP a good alignment, you could swap Divine Champion for Anointed Knight. You definitely should! Bards are fun jacks of all trades. And thanks for the advice! I'm definitely taking something else this time.Tekill wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 5:46 amWhy not change the playstyle a lot?The Last Question wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 3:57 pm I'm used to playing bards (B 27/ X 3), but thought about changing the playstyle a bit.
