Perhaps I am missing something obvious but if so I cannot figure it out so I am now wondering if it is a bug. I have a Character named Zenth Account: rubrightrichard which is level 18. The build is 5 Wizard, 5 Thaumaturge, 8 Pale Master. He has an intelligence score of 21 without buffs and has the Practiced Spell Caster (Wizard) feat. Yet for some reason the toon is not able to get level 8 or 9 spells. I cannot understand why or what is missing so perhaps it is a bug. If I am missing something obvious I would contritely thank anyone who can point it out. If it is a bug I have no idea where to go from here.
Thank you.

No bug here.
Pale master is a 6/10 spellcasting progression class. With your current level/class/feat breakdown you are caster level 18 but only spell level 7 (level 14 equivalent). You will unlock 8th level spells next level, and 9th level spells in 3 levels' time at level 21.
Practiced spellcaster increases caster level only, not spell level acquisition.

Ok. Well thank you. I thought the Practiced Spellcaster was a bit better than it is apparently. Now I know.

Practiced Spellcaster is still an excellent feat. 6/10 spellcasting PRCs are designed to lag behind in spell progression in exchange for the class perks. In the case of PM, you get bonus HP, excellent undead summons and undead immunities in exchange for slower spell progression.
It's up to you to decide if the perks are worth the drawbacks!
