"Noivice/Trainee" feats

Unread post by Hoihe »

Presently, the only way to RP training/studying certain base classes is by either not having anything to show for it and being at risk of not playing your sheet, or taking a 3 level dip which itself indicates far more education and power than a newcomer to it would possess.

Thus, what if we implemented a number of empty feats for the spellcasting classes (since non-spellcasters often have feats that mimic their behaviour already, or can be done so by skills or other existing mechanics of other classes). These feats would do nothing, merely permit the character to say they're able to read magic and studying to cast cantrips (wizard), are studying orisons and using a holy symbol (with only minimal progress) (cleric/druid).
