Cooking multiple stacks of meats only returns one stack
I have begun cooking meats on one of my characters, and had two stacks of one type of meat. When cooking the meats both stacks were consumed, but only one stack of cooked meats was made.

That one has been around a long time. Would be a big time saver if it would work.

Not sure how the script for it is implemented, but can't it be limited to only take up to 10 at a time?Planehopper wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 10:24 pm That one has been around a long time. Would be a big time saver if it would work.
If you have more you just use the campfire again.
Pretty sure that the Hunter Harrow quest works that way at least. If you have more than the 5 Wolf Hides it only takes 5, when talking to Samuel for the supplies.

In the meantime, what I do is dump them all on the ground next to the fire, and pick up, cook, and repeat until it's done.
Not a great solution when things are unstable, but the risk isnt huge.

So wasteful in these days and times !
Should be fixed next update, it'll cook everything though, so if you want to keep raw meat for some reason you'll have to drop it on the ground first.

Re: Cooking multiple stacks of meats only returns one stack
The cooking mechanic still cannot handle more than one stack of meat, and seems bugged when cooking more than one stack of meat.
I left only one stack of meat while putting the others on the ground. The mechanic successfully cooked the one stack. But after I picked up another stack and cooked, the mechanic did not give me another stack of cooked meat, nothing in turn. The same thing happened to the subsequent stacks of meat that I picked up and cooked. The mechanic seems only to be able to cook the first stack of meat.

Re: Cooking multiple stacks of meats only returns one stack
Updated: I also have the experience that the cooking did not return any cooked meat at all, even though I only have one stack of meat.
But the bug seems to be able to bypass by putting out the fire and starting another fire every time when cooking a new stack of meat.

Update: did more cooking, and it seems even I built another campfire, it still could not cook more than one stack of meat. It seems the mechanic can handle only one stack of meat of each kind. I experienced no problem when cooking only one stack of each wolf, pork, rodent, and bear meat.realayer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 4:35 am Updated: I also have the experience that the cooking did not return any cooked meat at all, even though I only have one stack of meat.

I can confirm this. Still having the same issue of secondary stacks of meats disappearing.

Re: Cooking multiple stacks of meats only returns one stack
Update: did more cooking today, I suspect the problem is not that the mechanic cannot handle multiple stacks but that it cannot handle a full (10 pieces) stack. Whenever I cook less than 10 pieces of meat, I successfully cook multiple stacks in a single campfire. But when it is a full stack, it fails every time. Need to gather more meat to do more testing to confirm my suspicion.

Re: Cooking multiple stacks of meats only returns one stack
Update: Okay, it seems my suspicion is correct. I cooked 27 wolf meat today and split them up into three stacks of nine pieces. I was able to successfully cook them all in a single click. So the cooking mechanic can handle multiple stacks, just not multiple full stacks. See the image below.

Great find! Will be splitting my own stacks like that until one of the devs gets the full stack issue figured out. That's honestly a strange one.realayer wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:12 am Update: Okay, it seems my suspicion is correct. I cooked 27 wolf meat today and split them up into three stacks of nine pieces.
