Arcane Trickster Question

Unread post by TymoraPitBoss »

Do ranged touch attack sneak dice apply to spells like enervation (requires successful rta)? How about melee touch attack spells? Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure they only apply to the spells that specifically say they do. So stuff like Invisible Needle, which requires a feat to get.

Only Invisible Needles and Acidic Splatters explicitly state AT compatibility. Since AT is a vanilla PrC (and not to mention the empirical evidence I've gathered by playing two ATs over the past year), we can dismiss this analysis as fundamentally flawed.

Generally, if it's an arcane RTA, and if it normally deals damage, it should receive sneak dice. Enervation doesn't deal damage, so it shouldn't. (Avasculate, on the other hand, might... or it might not. It's an odd spell, that, and I've never tested it myself.)
