Are they supposed to spam so often ?
Just encountered 2 in a row (vault floor 1).
Even seen 3 of them in one area...
Please get rid of the mimic spam !
Also in low level areas like Hilltop ruin - they are way overpowered for that CR.
Is anyone is really enjoying them ?
Shouldn't they be rare ? (like an epic drop)

Re: Mimics
What I find unfortunate is every mimic my PC has encountered AND SLAYED(!!!) did not drop any loot. Which according to a previous conversation, is by design.
That convo also communicated that Mimics are designed to make PCs retreat, essentially. To train Players to not just “brute force” all content, but to get “slapped back (my words) now and then, for that more realistic feel, I guess.
I love the idea of the Mimics (maybe not so populace). I just question their implementation currently. But the great thing is all things can be adjusted!!

Re: Mimics
When an area has mimics, the area usually has more loot than other dungeons of comparable difficulty. So the mimic is a hazard which balances that benefit. Treat them like traps, not monsters.

Re: Mimics
Reading this topic I thought, what're you talking about, I barely ever meet them...
Then I logged in and had a spawn-point in the Serpent hills lower temple and figured I'd give it a try. First I spent a very very long time even trying to locate the chests and two out of the three I managed to locate turned into mimics and dropped nothing (not counting boss chests). The chest that didn't turn into a mimic had gold 50-250 and an insignificant item. The boss dropped Improved holy water and the static gold, the boss chests also did not contain any items other than gold and scrolls.
I didn't even break even with consumables used xD
