I personally wouldn't venture there, no. I don't trust the mechanics of this game enough to think that the reward would ever be worth the risk (the RNG is garbage), and the reward would be something much discussed and likely highly debated internally as we balance things on possibilities (and the possibilities of anything "great" being worthy of item risk is highly unlikely in my opinion).
And what is the lore backing of the area? The reason. I dont really like areas added for sake of mechanical challenge without there being a reason to be.
Just my thoughts. I wouldn't go there.

Re: Corrosion epic area
Given there are plenty of character options which are significantly less reliant on gear than others (Wildshape druids and Augment Form transmuters, gishes, buff-and-bash clerics, certain bard and warlock builds, among many, many others) it would be difficult to gauge what the proper risk-to-reward would be. If the rewards are worth a fighter losing epic gear for, than it's more than enough reward for a party of non-gear-dependant characters to make off like kings. Even if every other mob is slinging a Mordenkainen's, there are plenty of non-breacheable buffs, and enhancements targeted on weapons a notoriously immune. Moreover, if expecting both gear destruction and dispelling, the optimal route could be simple consumables (3-minute wands of Bull's Strength rather than +4 STR bracers, for example).
Ultimately, as players move to minimize risk and maximize rewards, only those who can easily get by without losing gear would bother, and then those characters would ironically dominate the market for such exemplary gear in relation to characters who would actually benefit most from it. At which point it's worth asking, how much benefit does a dungeon with such a gimmick hold over a more playstyle-inclusive high-challenge area?

Either: The rewards are so great that you can recuperate the loss of a store-bought item on every run (at least, what if you lose more?) and so the trip isn't a complete waste of time. This would flood the market with good items, no doubts
or
You can make up your losses in a run, subsequent runs with shittier equipement leads to even more losses, and you end up with a crippled character who lost all of his gear for an empty spirit bottle.
Furthermore, the fact this would totally not affect everyone in the same way is why this shouldn't be a thing.
