How would players treat a minotaur adventurer? Considering we have a minotaur head and horns, would it be against the server rules or lore if one was the play a minotaur? I know its forbidden to take that head as well as the horns but why? Are all minotaurs evil, does everyone worship Baphomet and eat man flesh? Would it be acceptable to make a minotaur adventurer? Same stats as half orcs, far as i know they fit perfectly with a minotaur. Would entering cities be forbidden as well? Favorite class seems to fit as well. Could I be permitted to make one? I believe there was a minotaur in NWN 1 that took shelter in an inn, and people there seemed alright with him? Believe he was a part of the bounty quest but oh well. What do you think? Should it be possible? Other nwn2 servers have monstrous races as player races, both orc and others. Would like to give it a go, if i get your blessing!
If you understand it's forbidden to take the head and horns, why ask? It's more than likely forbidden because the staff has traveled down this line of questioning before and came to the decision to outlaw them.
I would say it's a slippery slope. If you are granted permission to do this, what will be the next request that is asked and your permission used as leverage? I play an aasimar who lost her wings. I know they aren't allowed on the server, so her RP to have them restored is just that, RP. If you are permitted to do this, I want her wings. Then the next guy might want to play an undead minion of a necromancer and want to play a skeleton or some such, or vampire. On and on.
Just seems like something that will quickly spiral out of control with the requests.
Too many conclusions you've made based on very limited information. There is a head and horns already implemented but i doubt there are wings for your angel boy. I posted this in suggestions not personal wish list. Your reply provided nothing useful other than spouting pesimism. Still, i value your opinion, but again it is your own. Would like to hear what DMs think as well.

If you just wanted to hear from staff, then send the question through PM to the distro. This is a public forum. Wings are in game. It is your "personal wish" to play a minotaur, so why say it's not? Just because I said something you don't want to hear, doesn't mean it's pessimism. You asked, I answered, you replied with spit and venom.
What the other guy said. I really doubt they're going to let you play a character with +8 Str and +4 Con. This server allows a lot, but that is completely unbalanced.
There would be no need to create a new race. Half orcs seems to fit Minotaur race pretty close. Just wondering if choosing that head and horns as well as RPing a Minotaur would be ok. I think some guy did a similiar thing with an ogrillon. Ogruhn ogrillon was his name, mercenary ogrillon. I believe he also received a feat from the DMs that gave him increased size. And there were no slippery slopes or skeleton PCs etc etc. A Minotaur adventurer would add a lot of flavor as well as interesting rp potential.
Minotaur heads are not allowed to be used by players. They got added for another mechanical reason that while might no longer be valid has yet to be corrected. Playing an ogrillon is also not allowed, players must play their character sheet. Someone can lie and pretend to be another race.
Personally never had an issue with monster races, so long as they are played correctly and accept their entire existence could be PvP on sight.
But that being said, I think there are a lot of other interesting ways you could RP with a "minotaur" within the guidelines.
The polymorph spell has a minotaur shape for example. You could play as a wizard who believes he is "cursed" with a jekyl and hyde illness and shifts into the minotaur shape. The reality is that he isn't cursed, or anything like that, but might be traumatized from an experience in the past or he was so obsessed with minotaurs his subconscious tried to make it reality. There is even a cloak that lets you cast polymorph - so you wouldn't even have to be a wizard. Alchemists can make potions of polymorph as well, which could fit the idea of using potions to "let the beast out".
I know it's not the same as a real minotaur, but I feel like you would get a lot more RP opportunities out of something along those lines seeing as a lot of people RP near civilization or would straight up give monster races a wide berth.
