Why DM Vanquish?

When I was accepted onto the DM team the HDM at the time asked me to pick a name. Unable to think of something on the spot, like DM Jareth  I overheard Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade playing on a TV the back ground. The part where the knight at the end hands over his sword to Indy and says he was waiting for someone to "Vanquish" him. It kind of makes sense considering PCs vanquish the monsters I deploy.

Why do you like The Labyrinth so much?

While it is not my favorite fantasy adventure movie it does accurately represent how I feel about Dungeon Mastering. There are many layers to that and I dare not bore you with an explicative description.

What kind of experience do you have?

I've played DnD since 2e came out. Mostly as a DM but some as a player. My background is in AD&D, 3e, 3.5e, Elements of 4e and 5e all of which I PnP DM'd in the past or am currently.

What's your approach on BGTSCC?

My forte' is the Underdark, though I have a very robust knowledge of general Forgotten Realms Lore. My style is Immersion Amplifying as I am always thinking of ways for a setting to seem verisimilar. Whether that be controlling the environment in subtle ways, or adding color to a normally static NPC the illusion that what's happening is real appeals to my nature. That a very generalized answer, but it is the foundation for everything I do.

What can I expect in your events?

I will rarely have events that require a monstrous turnout. I prefer a smaller scaled more intimate approach with players. Whether that be assisting with personal storylines, providing random encounters, various NPC sanctioned one shot quests or enhancing a player driven event, my aim is to find particular threads in the whole quilt and augment them. I will definitely engage solo players as well. Challenge Rating will depend on several factors which I may expound on another time.

Tips for when you know I'm with you:

I will make it very obvious whether or not your encounter should be handled by the game engine or text based role play. So please don't use engine mechanics for every encounter.

Please keep OOC to a bare minimum and if you are in a party click the little P icon on your chatbox. Party chat allows me to keep up with character banter and dialogue if separated.

Don't send tells to other players inviting them to join. My intention is to focus on YOU. Everyone else will get their turn. If your joy will be increased by having a certain character with you, send me a tell and ask.
I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.
