Bought a lantern but it doesn't seem to give off any light?
Seen the Illumination 'toggle'(?) feat on character sheet but it doesn't seem to do anything either?

Lanterns and torches are super buggy. Typically only looted lanterns/torches seem to ever work right in my experience.

There is a bucket in soubar that you can grab working torches (free). Self-reminder by posting here to put some of those elsewhere!

Yes, but if you're low level be real careful on doing much of anything thereabout. For now its a higher level area, especially for a low level mage (if thats what you're doing still).

Speaking of wonky torches themself, it's quite a complex thing as Devs replied and it's pretty small one as people can have their light sources in other ways.
While it doesn't mean it's not going to be fixed, it's out of scope of current priorities. I hope Dev team fixes it some time in future. I close it here, but it remains in QC section so we won't lose it.
