Variations of The Dead Walk

Are there alignment-appropriate variations of The Dead Walk we could implement?

Surely CG and CN warlocks should be allowed to summon some furry animals or fey companions for their pleasure without the whole server coming down on them with pitchforks?

not that there is anything wrong with that, but it would have to be creatures that would actually answer the call from a chaotic summoner, and be from summon IV

So long as they scale with caster level, like how the current undead summons do, I think it will be a great improvement already.

Or how about another invocation entirely?

How about a slightly homebrewed version of an invocation known as Hungry Darkness? I think this pathfinder version of it. Page 134 of Complete Arcane.

As for the homebrew: when you cast it, you create an area of Darkness, and you summon actual bats. Large Bats. Monstrous Bats. Thus regardless of alignment, you could summon bats instead of raising the dead.

Yea, this looks like another invocation entirely. A nice additional option to have if the server is willing to introduce it.

I'd prefer varying the summons from The Dead Walk more directly to accommodate CG and CN warlocks.

I know, I know, but the Dead Walk invocation creates undead -- and having it summon cudly little bears is kind of... You know... weird.

Where as the home brew of the Hungry Darkness invocation, could, just offer the options from the Summon Creatures IV, as Blackman said, in addition to an area of darkness. For example Dire/Celestial/Fiendish Crocodiles, or whatever else the spell offers.

And then you could just have a single HD 8, 12, and 17 Beasts of your choice, or perhaps several of lower HD, and these would be improved in the exact same manner as the Dead Walk invocation.
