OOTBI and manyshot

You can't use manyshot in the first round which is quite an issue when you try to kite or even open with many shot all together.
I'm aware that it is a known issue, but is it something that can/will be fixed some day?

On my ranged fighter, I regularly open with Manyshot, by using the feat action from my hotbar. Opening with Auto-attack, 'standard action', or any other actions besides Manyshot on a hostile target does take a round before the Manyshot actions are automatically queued for future turns though.

Could you expound on the specifics of your issue? Is it specifically that you do not receive one of the class features, or that you cannot manyshot at all that first round, even when specifically selected?

As i was testing OOTBI, things are not tied to rounds, but to seconds. You can get your auto-manyshot with regular attack if you are farther than your attack range since it swaps for manyshot about a second after you click it. Same goes for OOTBI ranged precision, it kicks in a second later after you click "attack".

I believe, both things require rework.

I'll need to try it once I'm back if it works when I press many shot and the mob is not in my range ,and see if it opens.
It's not practical with how far the bow range is either way, but it can help a bit.

It doesn't matter if I manually click manyshot or use >manyshot on, when my character opens it won't go off.
At that point I've not attacked or even gave the command to attack the mob, just manually targeting with many shot.
I've tried cancelling attacks by stepping back, clicking attacks off in the queue but it won't work.

On discord a player under the name Happy feet helped me with how to make an OOTBI and how to play with the bug.
Though we both haven't managed to get manyshot to work on the initial shot.

Would a bandaid fix work to give OOTBI a 'special' manyshot that when initially pressed no auto attack or concentration attacks may occur?

Manyshot is blackboxed piece of code. If devs want to add "special" one, they will have to code it from the very beginning, which sounds quite tedious considering how many other things need to be kept in mind that should work with manyshot. Also, one thing that can't be reworked is that manyshot always rely on Dex for AB.

Basically OOTBI would require a rework or some tweak to make it work , if that is the case with manyshot.
It would be great if it can be fixed though in OOTBI's case it's perfectly understandable if it is something just not for now.
It's a nice class to play and a good option for non elven archers and those that don't like AA, though not being able to manyshot at the start of combat is a problem for most content.

Thanks for the response and explanations btw, I'm going to try and see what happens when I use manyshot when something is not with in attack range.

OOTBI needs to be done from scratch. Right now, it is a trap of a prc for those that do not know. The prc should be disabled now with the 100% rcr until it is reworked.

It's still playable, given buggy. From a player perspective, rather not see it disabled.
For now it 'works' when you fight multiple mobs or a boss. Wouldn't dare pvping with it haha

OOBI has been bugged since at least 2014 when it was given an overhaul by Rasael. Luna's earlier version wasn't must better but at least the ranged precision damage always worked when you wanted it to. Luna's version used a toggled instantaneous ability which launched a ranged precision attack at nigh unlimited range and was impressive for what it did (I remember many 150+ damage crits with that thing - ranged precision was 1d8/2 OOBI levels, max 5d8, x3 on crit [!!!] back then).

By 2017 it was given a minor but ultimately failed overhaul.

It's nice for RP but consistently losing that +10 damage buff, especially on your first flurry of attacks, is what ultimately bites this class is the butt bigtime.
