Whipping goodness.

Unread post by Bommel00000 »

hey guys quick question.

lately im having some fun whipping stuff. but as far as i can tell. there is no weapon focus for the whip.
would u guys consider adding the "weaponfocus (whip)"?
or would this be to strong/op?

regards

There is a Weapon Focus Whip.

Are you trying to take it with a class's bonus feats? If so, which class?

Bards can use a whip by default.

But, it is required to take exotic weapon proficiency - if you want to take any other whip feats.

If that's working as designed or not - is another question.

If a class or race includes a default proficiency of a specific weapon or weapons, then that implies all manner of rights associated with said weapon or weapons should apply. This rationale is consistent with Dwarves having access to WF: Dwarven Axe without taking the exotic weapon feat because of their race-based proficiency with the Dwarven Axe.

Cheers!

agreed, but whips were added much later into the game - so not sure that's possible here. (without adding exotic to bards - which would be too much for free.)

It's possible, it just wasn't set up right initially.

I have a character that uses a whip - he had to take exotic to get all the appropriate fighter feats that go with weapons.

TPK.
