My fix for Failure to launch, error code 0xc0000005, error code 3221225477

This was my solution for the game failing to launch with error codes:
3221225477
or
0xc0000005

I noticed 0xc0000005 was also occurring for at least one person in game here.


Windows 10 -> View Security Dashboard -> App & Browser Control

Exploit Protection -> Exploit Protection Settings

Select Program Setting Tab


+ button next to "Add Program to customize" -> select "choose exact file path" -> select nwn2main.exe

nwn2main.exe may be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Neverwinter Nights 2


Override System Settings -> Force randomization for images ( Mandatory ASLR ) -> OFF

Override System Settings -> Randomize memory allocations ( Bottom-up ASLR ) -> OFF



This fixed the above problem for me. If you have the same problem, and it fixes it for you, yay. I am putting this here because when I searched for the error codes, nothing came up. When the next person does, I hope something comes up.
